Re: Leeds v Luton Town ??

I thought we beat them twice that season with Cantona scoring in one of those matches, I maybe wrong Ah yes you are right. We did beat Luton 2-0, Cantona scoring, at home 2 matches after losing 2-0 to Oldham which was I think when Cantona appeared as a sub for the first time. Cantona's goal was one...

Re: Dan James-DEAL IS OFF

The trouble is though that Dan James was our no1 target. Do we then sign our 2nd choice in case our first choice signing doesn't sign? In hindsight we could have done but hindsight is irrelevant when you have agreed a deal with a club and even had the player pass a medical. I am sure that if we had ...

Re: Dan James-DEAL IS OFF

Believe what you like Weasel we missed a trick there as our previous boards have done so many times in the past Had we pursued the deal in preparation prior to the January window opening we'd have probably got our man. In the end by leaving it too late we got into a dogfight & we missed out Even wi...

Re: Dan James-DEAL IS OFF

Ah so no football this weekend so let's get back to having a go at the best board we have had since the early 90s. Let's just agree to whatever any clubs wants from us when we sign a player. Swansea messed us about and from all accounts we kept agreeing to their proposed deals as they continually ch...

Re: Leeds v Luton Town ??

Luton is a horrible place, the type of small ground we tend to struggle on We've been in the same league as them on a few occasions... we lost 5-1 to them the year we both got relegated to league one Pretty sure we lost 2-0 to them in the title winning season and it was the match where Cantona c...

Re: Paper Talk

What? You're kidding, even it today's ridiculous transfer fee market, that is unbelievable. Standard practise with a lot of clubs, especially Portugese and Spanish. They insert huge release fees just in case the player becomes really good but the majority of the time the players will never match up...

Re: Paper Talk

The money quoted for him is to trigger a release deal. I doubt we'd be looking to pay that. Don't forget that Hadi Sacko had something ridiculous like a £40m release fee in his contract.

Re: Lionel Messi

Messi and Ronaldo would have been kicked to pieces in bygone eras, a bit like our own Eddie Gray. Amazing how teams got by with small squads and only 1 subs back then whereas now you fart within 10 metres of a player and they go down.

Some Leeds related items today Aston Villa, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are among the clubs who now face sanctions for breaches of financial regulations after Birmingham City were slapped with a nine-point deduction. Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is considering a move for Uruguayan midfielder ...

And they still have to play Leeds.........
Might be better - remember under Monk at the end and we were playing teams like Wolves who had nothing to play for yet tonked us. If they need to go for the win it stops them just sitting back.

Re: Neil (know it all) Warnock

That would be the same Warnock you regularly praised until you eventually saw through his shiny invisible clothes. Remember you praising how good we had become defensively and then we conceded 7 at home. Am sure Warnock is happy to talk about anything to deflect from his terrible record in the premi...

Re: Radz being sued for £750m by Chinese investors?

Reading that it sounds like the Chinese have created their own problems. Losing key staff, appointing three separate CEO's since takeover, and losing the Serie A rights under their own ownership, probably due to the first two points. TV Rights deals don't just fall into your lap. Indeed. Deffo soun...

Re: Jack Clarke- Get Your Boots On

Yes having Clarke back, Roofe back, Brown fit, Bogusz acclimatised to the Bielsa way and suddenly our bench looks pretty good. Just think every match we can bring one of those 4 on after Douglas and Dallas have come on.

Re: The Early #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 18th Mar)

I must admit to being a bit worried with the PJ stuff prior to the match, biggest game etc, and was worried that we might have thought it was job done if we'd beat Sheff Utd and then have a Monkesque slump. We win our next match and they lose and it is back to how it was before the Sheff U game but ...

Re: The Early #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 18th Mar)

PJ isn't particularly good in the air when actually competing against someone. He is good when no one is around and when he is able to run and attack the ball, excellent in the zonal system that Monk used when he didn't have to mark but could just attack the ball. RE Brown there is a huge difference...

Millwall Manager Neil Harris has been talking to the press about the forthcoming Leeds game following being knocked out of the Cup by Brighton! “The biggest game of the season by far, miles bigger than today, is Leeds away in two weeks’ time. “We’ll enjoy the break, enjoy the rest. We’ve got five g...

Re: The Early #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 18th Mar)

I dont think Bielsa rates Brown, really dont, i watch him for the u23s and while clearly talented he is lazy, if you watch him for the u23s you can see why Bielsa wouldn't play him. Compare him to Bogusz who runs around like an absolute lunatic, that may seem inconsequential to us but to Bielsa he ...
