Re: Marcelo Bielsa

PJ asked for extra time off preseason and the Villa incident. Izzy felt he was fit enough, Bielsa didn’t agree, Izzy felt as a PL player he should have been selected. Augustin was the same, he felt he should be included. Bielsa likes a small squad, he doesn’t handle ‘characters’. Ask every PL team ...

Re: Player Profile : Kiko Casilla

Since the 3-3 draw with Cardiff, Kiko has conceded 76.47% of shots faced Prior to the Cardiff game he was EFL player of the month. Easy to pick stats over a short period to try to sway an argument. Similarly Messlier conceded something like 3 more than the expected goals against from the shots face...

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

Bielsa hasn’t a great record either with players who have a “personality” Izzy Brown, Nketiah, Augustin, Pontus he is an old fashioned world class coach but today’s modern player needs handling differently. Strange to use those you list as evidence against Bielsa dealing with players with 'personal...

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

SBNation is reporting the club have reached agreement with Marcelo Bielsa on a one-year contract extension: https://throughitalltogether.sbnation.com/2020/8/8/21359671/leeds-united-reportedly-agree-terms-with-marcelo-bielsa This is fantastic news. I only wish it had been for longer. The length of t...

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

Cant see this fan turning on Bielsa if we have a poor next season. He has uplifted my heart so much these past two seasons. He has his flaws but I couldnt think of a better coach to have at EL. Not often I agree with you but am 100% on this. Some fans simply have unrealistic expectations. Bielsa ha...

Re: Said Benrahma

Don't Brentford base all their buys on stats? I'd say the only caveat with that is it doesn't tell you if the players is mentally tough, will he continue to demand the ball if he is having a bad game, if it's not going well for the team. Does it show mistakes made, can't beat a good scout and sever...

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

I believe they were youth sides Weasel, and I think the leagues were split into 2 divisions of only 19 games each. The Apertura and the Clausura apparently are the same league, but split into two competitions, first half and second half. I think Argentina play the same split system....👍 Nope he sta...

Re: Player Profile : Kiko Casilla

Nothing wrong with a keeper coming so far out his goal area occasionally, I used to do it a lot, which allowed me to get to balls before strikers/wingers. Kiko does need to keep an eye on his judgement when coming out his area though. My only problem with continental keepers is, they tend to punch ...

Re: Marcelo Bielsa

The Championship title is Bielsa's first league title in his management career. In 1980, after retiring from playing in football, Bielsa decided to start a career as a football manager. His first job was coaching the youth divisions of Newell's. In 1990, he was given the task of managing their firs...

Definitely retain him and hope he continues to develop. Hard to really judge him yet but did okay in the minutes he played. Rating: 7 Can't believe people knocking Bielsa for not playing more youth players. He was hired to get us promoted not to simply play as many young players as he could. We flog...

Not sure how that will work out for us, on one hand we dont have a particularly deep squad, on the other it gave us that free half time Pablo sub.
To be fair Bielsa often made half time subs before those rules came in.

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season

sorry, i think you are being terribly unfair to george graham, it was he who built the academy up. O'Leary just inherited the good fruit borne by Graham's efforts. Graham did f*ck all with the academy. It was all down to Wilko's 10 year plan with the youth academy and those youngsters came through ...

Bit odd to go to Manchester, anyone who knows air travel better then I possibly suggest why he wouldn't fly from Leeds?
Mcr is a bigger airport so more destinations available. Also more choice of airlines. Leeds/Bradford is a much nicer airport though.

Re: Player Profile : Kalvin Phillips

A definite keep as he is an integral part of the team and showed last summer that he wants to stay here. There are some areas that he can still improve and Bielsa is the best manager to help him keep improving.

I’d like to see us go for David Raya their keeper think his style would definitely suit us.
F*ck me the sh*t that Casillas gets from fans and you'd like us to sign that clown.

Still think we should be able to do better than Said but if Bielsa wants him then that's good enough for me. WHat Bielsa wants though if the journos are to be believed is about 20 new keepers, bucketloads of fullbacks, a plethora of centrebacks etc

Benrahma for all his twisting and turning did not. have a hair out of place. Whatever glue he had applied to his head,. at times found its way down to his boots as. he seemed rooted to the spot, and once he lost the ball seemed to have little or no interest in tracking back or attempting a recovery...

Re: Tonight's Playoff Final

Brentford exodus imminent Although on that evidence some clubs may think twice! The fickle nature of form. Won all those games in a row but when it really mattered lost 4 out of 5 . I'd have huge question marks over their front 3 based on their lack of end product when it mattered. The vultures wil...

Re: Our front three...

In the end the 5-0 win over Stoke, and some other good results after the resumption made our goal total for the season relative to Brentford's look much better, but for much of the season we were trying to scrape 1-0 wins. It's crazy how people try to justify things. Our 5-0 win made our goal total...
