Re: Stoke City v Leeds Utd Match Thread

For those that don't like sweeper keepers it is worth noting that our first goal wouldn't have been scored if Stoke's keeper was a sweeper keeper as he would have been in a position to intercept the cross, instead he was rooted in his 6 yard box.

Re: Stoke City v Leeds Utd Match Thread

I wonder if Bamford has confidence issues with playing at ER, as he always seems to score away from home. Possibly also that teams are more defensive when they come to ER and a such PB, as the lone striker, will often have at least 2 centrebacks marking him. Even away from home he will often be up ...

Re: Documentary "Take us home"

Really enjoyed watching it too although weird cos so many times you find yourself hoping something will change, whether it is a shot going in or Dan James signing. Certainly shows the human side of the people at the club. Just hope that our failure last season is a blessing in disguise as we grow st...

Re: Stoke City v Leeds Utd Match Thread

Not sure spending money on a 5th quality starting RWB would have made too much sense. Disagree we haven't learned lessons from last season..maybe the fans haven't learned the lessons from last season. Appears not judging by the slagging off of Pablo this week... I'd bet no other team has 4 quality ...

Re: Adam Forshaw

Batty wasn't but equally Batty wasn't playing in a position where he was going to find himself in the shooting positions that Forshaw does. Batty also played in a midfield where the other 3 midfielders were likely going to score 30 goals between them. Like you say KP offers little goal threat too.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 22nd Aug) - Selection headache for Bielsa?

Who do you drop if you start Costa though, Klich? and move Pablo inside, Harrison? and have no natural left sided player on the pitch, Forshaw? and drop the in form player atm, Dallas? and play 3 back and Costa as a RWB? The simple solution at present is to keep the same team and have the same opti...

THink its a bit harsh to blame it all on Ethan Pinnock.
Who is this Effin' Pillock you are talking about?

Re: Leeds Utd v Brentford Match Thread - Alioski Replaces Douglas

Feel for Bamford a bit with the massive 'Eddie' chant when he came on, but he continued to graft and didn't let his head drop either. Don't think he had a bad game and only really had 2 chances, one which was difficult, the other under a lot of pressure from the keeper and that was almost in. Neith...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 22nd Aug) - Selection headache for Bielsa?

Having scored twice in the last two league matches, both after coming on as a substitute (not counting the League Cup goal v Salford or the U23 game v Millwall) Nketiah is already giving Bielsa a big selection dilemma according to Leeds journalist Phil Hay Eddie hasn't scored in the last 2 league m...

Re: Leeds Utd v Brentford Match Thread - Alioski Replaces Douglas

Worst performance of the season, at least we broke the ER hoodoo with a victory thanks to Nketiah , Costa & the sublime pass from Klich Laboured to say the least It was but equally we looked solid from a defensive point of view with Brentford limited to a couple of long shots, one a cracking shot t...

Re: Adam Forshaw

The main concerns I have with Forshaw is that A) He has never been a goalscoring midfielder and as such in some matches his misses will prove crucial, if Bamford didn't tap in the rebound v Wigan that missed header from a few yards out could have cost us the game. Maybe goals will come but usually p...

Bit surprised by Brentford, when did they become a long ball team?
Maybe when they signed a centreback that isn't comfortable plying out from the back....

This is the sort of thing the Bosman ruling should have been helping to prevent instead of making mega rich footballers even richer.

Re: Today's Games

What frustrates me is that there is so many unpunished infringements going on in a game, shirt pulling for example, which is a blant premeditated foul. Every time 100% Then we have the silly new handball law which only makes VAR look even more silly. And yes, the goal celebrations being put on hold...

Re: Today's Games

Hate the fact that fans cant celebrate a goal for the fear the ball has crazily hit somones arm however accidentally ( as in Jesus's goal that was disallowed on Sat for City ) or if a strikers arm is fractionally ahead of a defenders body. Just think back to the play-offs first leg and Derby fans c...

Re: Kiko Casilla

From what I have seen it seems to be improving already although probably now jinxed him. He will start to judge it better, be able to spot opposition players trying to block him, get used to being jumped into as he is about to punch/catch etc. Also his teammates should grow in confidence that when h...

Re: Kiko Casilla

As a defender I would much rather have a keeper that comes for crosses than stays on his line. I would also much rather have a keeper that reads the danger and is alert and on his toes to rush out and clear the danger before it becomes dangerous (i.e before their striker gets to the ball and is clea...

Re: U23's 2019-20

I thought for such a strong lineup Leeds should have romped that match. Last season the U23s seemed to play better when 'first teamers' weren't in the team. Hugely different approach during the games for youngsters trying to prove they are good enough compared to 'first teamers' using it as a fitne...

Re: Kiko Casilla

Bielsa knew Kiko was no mug, signing Casilla was a coup for Leeds Remember how De Gea started his Man Ure career, now one of the best keepers to grace the premiership Indeed. Far harder for keepers to adapt to a new team and way of playing than outfield players. A keeper might go through games with...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 19th Aug) - Post match reaction, Whites linked to Serb and Eddie's cost revealed

I feel the Wigan performance was a more disciplined and cautious one given how we self imploded against them last season. It shows that the team is evolving and hopefully means we will be much calmer in big pressure games later in the season. We seem to be a bit stronger defensively as a team not al...
