Re: Monday Breakfast Debate - Are we out of the rut ?

Monk set his side up for a 0-0 draw, he only showed some attacking intent when it was more or less too late at 2-0 down. I was fearful of Traore but we coped with him quite well I thought Agree fully. Monk set out his stall to keep it tight and try to nick the game on a set piece. At Leeds he showe...

Re: Monday Breakfast Debate - Are we out of the rut ?

Do you think we've come out of the rut we were in ? Only time will tell and at times it is fine margins. Pablo scores the penalty in injury time v Reading and we don't lose, different referee v Derby and we maybe win the game. Saiz shot goes in at 2-0 yesterday and we cruise to win instead a shocki...

Re: Pablo Hernandez

This team definitely looks better with him, Saiz and Alioski playing. PH is clever enough to be able to interchange with Saiz in true spanish style rather than being tied down to a position.

Sounded like it was a harsh booking too. Seems like the ref had already decided to book certain players based on their reputation.

Re: Pontus Jansson

Fair enough, Ges, didn't know that. I thought it was a case that we had balked at paying the asking price Was part of the new manager's (Clement) plans at Swansea and as such there was never any way that either Swansea would sell him or that he would drop down a division after being told he was in ...

Re: Gianni Alioski

Alioski for me would be a definite starter. For all he will sometimes be greedy or take the wrong option he has goals and pace in him which is exactly what you want from a winger. When you also add in his tremendous attitude towards helping out defensively then for me he has to start. He is still yo...

Re: Kemar Roofe

The trouble with Roofe is that he isn't really naturally suited to any position in the current formation and this was the same last year. For me he would be best employed in a 2 man frontline alongside a player in the Wood/Lasogga mould. I just don't see him scoring enough goals as a lone frontman (...

Re: Leeds v Middlesbro' - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Not at all idiotic from Ayling!! manhandled round the throat and thrown to the ground I would have reacted the same!! :bear: That could explain why you weren't even on the bench today. Perhaps it is time you became Berardi Bear! Seriously though I think it would have been hard for anyone not to rea...

Re: Leeds v Middlesbro' - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Idiotic more like!! Could have cost us, a senior player to react like that in the box, no matter how aggrieved he feels is stupid Definitely idiotic from Ayling but perhaps in mitigation I wonder where Ayala's foot was going to land as it was very close to Ayling's body and Ayling may have been exp...

Re: Friday's Breakfast Debate - Price of Football

The cost to attend matches in England is ridiculous. I have been to 2 matches in Spain and paid £13 to see Valencia in La Liga (Premiership) and £10 to see Albacete in La Liga B (Championship).

Re: Thursday's Breakfast Debate - Kinnear Interview

I think all this stuff about a drinking culture is typical of people making stuff up just because the team is playing badly. With everyone these days having mobile phones with cameras players can no longer get away with anything like this - a social drink or two maybe but certainly nothing like gett...

Re: Thursday's Breakfast Debate - Kinnear Interview

If we flipped the results and had started poorly then won a few everyone would be delighted. We are a work in progress and as such inconsistency will likely continue until the team fully gels and some players get their form back. We are not as bad as we have shown and equally we are not going to be ...

Re: Ryan Edmondson.........

Still doesn't make up for the lack of top signings required in the summer You are right it doesn't but that doesn't make it a negative. This club has got to evolve on a lot of different levels, the first team, the youth set-up, the commercialism, world wide marketing, training facilities etc etc. W...

Re: A Class Above

It's hard to understand the dynamic of our potentially calamitous loss of form and Ali has unfortunately been one whose form has dipped, but he's potentially a game changer and league winner with Saiz and possibly Ekuban. Like you, I like TC and I think he could be really good for us - unfortunatel...

I think it hugely encouraging that the owner of the club is investing on the youth side of things rather than just asset stripping. For Le...

Yeah don't forget the millions of players we were 'linked' with in the summer. Will wait for the signings to be announced before looking the name up on wikipedia.

Re: Pablo Hernandez

When Pablo plays well the whole team plays well as he makes the team tick. I think the main problem with Pablo is that he sees things that a lot of our other players don't and as such they aren't anticipating his passes and he then has to hold onto the ball a bit longer or has to try a pass that isn...

Re: Samu Saiz

I would say as well that when the formation/system is working well there is lots of interchange between the no.10 and 2 wide men. When Hernandez and Roofe were playing the wide positions they would often be switching with Saiz and making the opposition players not know who to mark.

Re: TC - Stay or Go?

Green was contracted here for another season at original cost IIRC, don't remember any "pay me more or I go" stand from him. He'd have been happy to stay as first team goalie. I'd be the same if I wasn't going to play I might at least earn more money doing it. I'd have made the same choic...

Re: Monday Breakfast Debate - We're not good enough ?

Still feel, on our day, at our best, we are a match for any side in this division, so yes we are good enough, what we arent is consistent enough. For me, its confidence, you hear pundits talk about it all the time, "he is clearly low on confidence", its true, our team is low on confidence...
