Re: Leeds v Barnsley - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Betting odds Leeds 8/5 to win.....Barnsley 17/10 to win Shows how sh*t we have become since PH took over as we are effectively the same odds as Barnsley to win despite us still being above them (thank god there is only 4 matches left so we can't drop much lower) in the league and playing at home. T...

Re: What might have been

A great bit on radio 5 tonight about Guardiola, the similarities with TC are remarkable - the need for a ball playing keeper but getting the wrong one in, the way they both took the blame themselves rather than blaming the players, the way they struggled in their first season against more direct tea...

Agree with you 100% Cjay. What's wrong with saying "We have some great players here, we need to add a bit of quality and then if they play like they can we are a good team"

"I want to see people fighting, trying to overachieve"[/b]
That's what we were doing before his arrival over achieving (in comparison to how we have done since) and fighting with the opposition with a combination of headbutts, spitting and reckless lunges.

Re: PH Sack him or back him?

Should never have been captain in the first place Who's to blame for that ? The players - they were supposedly asked to vote and chose him - shows that for whatever reasons they see him as a leader. Not many other options at the time really as Bartley had gone. Only other real contenders were Janns...

Re: Our strikers....

Who cares about his misses when he scores 30 goals in a season Not saying I care about his misses just stating that he has different attributes to Lasogga - Wood is more suited to the English game than Lasogga. Could see Lasogga doing well in a league where they play a more possession based game an...

Re: Paul Heckingbottom

Just looking at Barnsley results prior to PH coming to Leeds and they lost 4 and drew 1 of his last 5 matches there - who in their right mind would appoint a manager who was performing so badly - same old quotes coming from him after those matches - classic one from their 3-1 loss to Villa where he ...

Re: Our strikers....

The video shows his goals - doesn't show the misses. A lot of strikers aren't great when they have a lot of time to think as they approach the keeper on a one on one situation.

Re: Our strikers....

Different types of strikers in fairness - Wood wasn't great at one on ones but was good at instinctive finishes. Lasogga is a more composed finisher but lacks the speed to get into as many positions to score as Wood.

Re: Our strikers....

It's something like 10 goals in 20 starts I think, which really isn't bad at all. I'd fancy him with a one on one more than Wood, too. No one is blaming Peacock-Farrell for not keeping clean sheets, yet they expect Lasogga to score goals in a team that's playing badly. Interesting how many people o...

Re: Our strikers....

Let's not forget it was luck that DOL discovered exactly how good the likes of Smith, Kewell, Robbo and Woodgate actually were. O'Leary had been working closely with the youth team and had been suggesting to George Graham that some of the players were ready. It also was a good idea for DOL to bring...

Re: Paul Heckingbottom

Heck, I'm changing my opinion too. Heck I miss the excitement of regularly winning matches in league 1 and think PH is the man to get us back there - heck we may even end up winning that football league trophy that eluded us last time.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/apr/02/overseas-manager-14-point-difference-premier-league-season Great article - this paragraph though has me hugely concerned as it would suggest that PH is doing even worse than the results show. This would definitely put us in the sh*t if he is all...

What might have been

For those who knock TC have a read and just compare Pep Guardiola's struggles in the first season, despite an impressive start, the failure of a ball playing keeper and how 2 or 3 key signings the following year made the team click. What might have been...

Re: PH Sack him or back him?

We'll be fighting relegation if our supposedly saviour doesn't kick Orta out & allow the manager to bring in his own players & get shot of all the deadwood we seem to have accumulated once again Oh & how about a proper leader being made captain this season not a League One player from Chesterfield....

If the club are talking to him about who he wants to keep, sadly it suggests he will stay in charge next season.
Maybe they are simply planning to give those players to him when they tell him to f*ck off. Can only hope.

Re: Aston Villa v Leeds - MAN OF THE MATCH

BPF looking to get the award for (at least) the 3rd match in a row. When your keeper is mom in even one match it tells the story. Don't think I have ever seen a keeper get 3 moms in a row for any team ever.

Re: PH Sack him or back him?

My opinion would be to sack him now and place Cordoban in caretaker charge for the rest of the season.
