Re: Pablo ready to sign new 2 year deal

I just hope that isn’t our biggest “signing” for next season and I’m not convinced he has another 18 months in those legs not alone 2 years, hope I’m wrong. I don't see why he wouldn't have enough left in his tank. Gordon Strachan was a great example of a dedicated pro looking after himself and wit...

Re: Summer Transfers and Squad Discussion

I think the issue with that is what we do with the U23's that are most ready. Would O'Connor and Pearce be best sitting in the 23's and waiting for a chance, or would they be better spending a season out on loan? I think the same goes for BPF. Maybe he could be our starter next year, but if he's go...

Re: Post season tour

Have deleted the last few posts on here as once again a simple PH comment led to unneccessary over reaction and quickly to obscenities. Please keep PH thoughts to the relevant threads as it seems we still cannot discuss things openly.

The warning Hector issued should still stand.

Re: Summer Transfers and Squad Discussion

The theory is good. In having a 20 man squad you can have 2 players for every position if you go with the premise of 3 central midfielders for the 2 positions and likewise in defence. Having players that are capable of playing in 2 positions helps too (although not to the extent of a right back play...

Re: The Championship 17/18

Seems he has done okay but not great for Blackburn. Like him as a clever player but not sure how effective he could be. A lot could depend on the formation we play next season as he doesn't really look suited to a lone striker role and although he might do well in the no.10 role he would face strong...

Re: Pablo ready to sign new 2 year deal

Would be great if it does happen and restore some faith in the board that they can compete with other teams to retain our best players. Player of the year for me.

Crikey when I scrolled down then I caught the end of the post saying footballers don't have any balls and then the next thing I saw was Leon saying 'you can have mine.' Thank goodness Leon had inserted a quote into his reply

I could be wrong but aren’t Murphy, Antonsson and Klich also loaned out?
Had forgotten about those and the Japanese international too. Definitely makes sense to have a good look at them although a friendly a lot nearer to home would make more sense if it was the case to look at them and judge.

TBF Norm even when we were sailing in calmer waters the guest numbers were high ..think it was over 100 on one quiet day
Also until members log in they will show as guests so a few of the 'guests' may have been members simply reading the posts.

Maybe a chance for PH to have a closer look at players returning from loan before deciding on next seasons transfer list?
I think we only have Coyle out on loan, maybe Wilkes too. Can't think of anyone else so would seem a bit strange although possibly the most logical reason yet.

Re: Post season tour

Seems a strange idea to have a post season tour. At the end of the season regardless of how the team has done I am sure the players simply want to get a break from it all and wind down. Regardless of how they have played etc etc they will have weary bodies and injury niggles. Still in this day and a...

Re: Under 23's v Cardiff today

The goal from Dalby was superb. A great throughball, great speed and composure then from Dalby. The future looks very bright and would be nice to see some more of the U23s get a sniff of first team action this season.

Re: Bailey Peacock-Farrell

My Dad used to play in net and said he preferred playing for sh*t teams as it kept him busy. He'd get player of the season every year but the teams he played for won nowt. When a keeper plays well it really is a double edged sword. Certainly a lot of credit to BPF though and has done his chances of ...

Re: Championship's Most Expensive Squads

Always hard to judge as you have to take various things into consideration not just money. For example Fulham have Sessignon who came through their ranks and as such cost nothing. For any other team to have a player of that quality they would probably have to spend upwards of £30m. Likewise as Clive...

Re: Orta on his way

Fair enough. I respect your opinion. I just think in three seasons or so we will look back and most of these players won't be playing at this level still. If PH is still in charge they definitely won't be playing at this level, it will be league 1 Leeds. Seriously though you may be right but until ...

Re: Orta on his way

So hypocritical. You say you can't judge players properly in such a short period of time and yet have judged forshaw as a good buy. For four or five million from another championship team it was hardly the most brilliant scouting I've ever seen. Poor: Cibicki Sacko Wiedwald Anita De bock Klich Lone...

Re: Leeds v Barnsley - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Once again plenty of credit for TC That's right i give credit to a manager that had us playing great football at times and looking like a team capable of getting promoted. On our day we were more than a match for any team with TC making the most out of the squad at his disposal. Apparently though w...

Name the good buys he made where it matters please ?
Good: Saiz, Forshaw, Alioski

Righto you name the bad buys and say exactly what you expected for the price we paid for them. Easy to criticise but when paying £500k for a player you will rarely get great players these days.

Re: Simple question ?

Barnsley have traditionally been lower than Leeds but usually raise their game against us and our record against them is particularly poor. They usually play attractive football too but like I have said they lack passion and ability now
