Re: Player Profile : Mateusz Klich

Absolutely a starter - probably first name on my teamsheet along with Phillip's and Jansson.

Re: Player Profile : Kalvin Phillips

I do see where weasel is coming from, and I don't think Kalvin is anywhere as good as some make out, but he really has been the standout improved player under Bielsa. I don't really think we should be selling any of last year's starting 11 if we can help it - would rather sell Clarke as we have othe...

Re: Player Profile : Liam Cooper

This is a hard one. He's definitely improved since being here, but as has been said, I don't think he's anywhere near the other top level championship CBs. He did get into the team of the season though. I always try to judge players on whether other teams around is would take them. Players like Pont...

Re: Championship 19/20

Aston Villa have signed forward Jota from local rivals Birmingham for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract. Villa midfielder Gary Gardner, 26, has gone in the opposite direction, joining the Championship side for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal. Its going to be important that we hold o...

Re: Player Profile : Pontus Jansson

I'm (again) on the same page as weasel here. Best CB at the club so I would keep him and he'd be starting every game. Bielsa doesn't seem to hold him in that regard for whatever reason. Remember, he only got his place back when Berardi got injured and then didn't get it back in the semi second leg a...

Re: Player Profile : Ezgjan Alioski

Right wing is his best position imo, but he is a better left back then Douglas imo whose season at Wolves surrounded by better players hid his clear issues which were clear from his playing level pre Wolves. Douglas has had one season with us in which he missed half of it injured and was probably n...

Re: Player Profile : Ezgjan Alioski

Keep 100%. He pretty much optimises the 'Bielsa way' with his relentless effort. Not sure what his best position is, but as it stands he'll be starting at LB, LW or RW depending on who comes in. Would keep him as a squad player if we replace in those positions as he's always going to be a good optio...

Re: Player Profile : Luke Ayling

Retain as our No.1 right back for next season? Definitely for me. He's perfect for this system in my opinion - mobile, high work rate and has good movement in the right areas (think he probably had the most shots for us in the Derby loss...). I'd agree with weasel that his end product could be bett...

Re: QSI In Talks With Radz

So, a small investment being talked about now, maybe 10% for £7-10m. Would start to look like a lot of cooks in there... Can imagine that there will be some kind of incentive for QSI in there if they do invest... maybe first refusal when we are promoted? Would still rather not get taken over by the...

Re: Player Profile : Kiko Casilla

A good keeper will learn from those mistakes, and with a full preseason he'll hopefully build better communication with the defence. Good shot stopper and generally better command at set pieces than BPF had. Don't think he'd get more than a 6/7 for me though. Some talk about a release clause, so I w...

More statistical bullshit ...
And I'm not sure where it falls under 'Transfer Rumours'.

Had enough of people bashing our players now tbh. We fell short - we're all disappointed - but these players got us to the top on merit, even if form dipped late on.

Bielsa wants Harrison back on loan according to Phil Hay. God knows why! 🙈😲 I'd rather have Izzy Brown back.
He was industrious and clearly Bielsa liked him. Maybe he'll be less eager to show off and more focused on production next season...

Re: MOT & LUFC Stats thread

That's because we have concentrated more effort on our U23's than the first-team sqaud Also goes to show our squad is littered with average/rubbish individuals not good enough for a promotion challenge Around 35 of those players never made into our first-team, they were either unavailable, too youn...

Re: Radz on Derby/Radz on Talksport Jim White's show imminently

Am I correct in thinking that if they hadn't done this bit of inventive accounting, they would have been liable to a points deduction for breaching ffp? They'll probably get promoted then get the meaningless deduction. It may look like sour grapes, but this sort of thing will continue to happen, giv...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 22nd May)

You put it better than I could, Jon! I too don't think Bielsa will be lobbying for a huge war chest, just funds to upgrade the positions he believes to be weak. I just hope the chaff generate sufficient funds that none of the wheat has to be sold. AR's comment suggests otherwise, but who knows. I t...

Re: 2019/20 Transfer Rumours & Discussion Thread

Just hope we have learned lessons. We seem really crap at wrapping up deals for whatever reason. Buendia, Barnes, James, those 3 players and we'd have been up. Identifying players doesnt seem our problem, signing them does. I'd love 1 or 2 talented young south american wingers with flair and pace. ...

Re: Gaetano Berardi

With correct refereeing his red against Derby wouldn't have happened. He is a decent defender, a useful squad player and a committed presence in the dressing room. This  He was huge at the start of the season and is clearly very passionate about the club. I personally wouldn't get rid of any o...

Re: Next season

For me the best thing to happen close season would be to get rid of Orta. He's brought in (with a few exceptions) a lot of very average and poor players. If you look at the team today it hardly contained any players signed by him... The spine of the team (and best players in it) were all from befor...
