Re: Swansea City v Leeds United Official matchday thread

Was a good point in the end. Losing your only recognised CB (and captain) just before kickoff is a massive blow, but I think Ayling and especially Shackleton did well. I'm concerned as anyone with the CB situation now, but if Bielsa is happy with Shaughnessy as backup to Cooper, Jansson and Berardi ...

Re: Swansea City v Leeds United Official matchday thread

Swansea players crowding the ref, especially McBurnie and getting decisions. Poor discipline again after we conceded, Phillips and Cooper would've got sent off if both were on the pitch. Too many bookings. I'm not usually one to whinge about refereeing, but it was abysmal tonight. No idea how he bo...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 21st Aug)

Bielsa listed Roberts in his 'highly rated youngsters' list the other week (along with Shackleton, Shaughnessy and Edmonson), so I think he'll still play some part in the first team. Will serve him well to get game time for the u23s so that he's fresh when called on for first team action.

Exactly, why would Ranieri take a 2nd tier job in England or Europe
Why would Bielsa?

Who’ll be back up centre? Shog?
Would have thought so.

A shame for Pontus to have another setback in getting into the team. Hopefully it's just a tweak and he'll be back in training quickly.

Yeah, it's an absolutely bizarre decision to say that your current manager, who is doing exceedingly well, was your 4th choice...

Wouldn't have wanted Martinez, personally, and I feel like Ranieri and Conte would have been gambles, especially if Conte was going to be on £20m!

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 20 Aug)

Afternoon Genghers, I absolutely understand where you are coming from but a senior psychology lecturer at the UEA says although the pink effect would be small, it could be enough to tip results in marginal games. The difference between victory and defeat in many games of football are so small that ...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Mon 20 Aug)

Do the EFL have rules on such things? It's very pre-LGBT and maybe should be frowned upon. It's not homophobic but rather designed to make straight guys uncomfortable. Amidst all the LGBT stuff don't straight guys have rights too. I wonder how Norwich would feel if a couple of small cans of black p...

Re: Leeds United v Rotherham Official matchday thread

As Bield says, you can't start presuming the outcome of the league after 3 games. All we can do us look at our next opposition and try to beat them. Can't see Stoke struggling long-term this season. It would be nothing to them to go and get a Big Sam or someone of that ilk (Warnock after he's sacked...

Re: Swansea City v Leeds United Official matchday thread

I think we'll see one or two changes. Pontus might get a start next to Cooper and I think that we could see one of he wingers (probably Pablo) given a rest in favour of Harrison/Baker.

Hopefully we'll keep the intensity up and catch them napping.

On telly as well I believe.

A proper sellout at ER again - absolutely great to see.

Who knew that playing attractive attacking football would pull in the crowds?

Leeds United v Rotherham Official matchday thread

Unless there are any injuries we don't know about, it'll be the same team as Derby I suspect.

Rotherham will be a different challenge, as they're likely to be more compact/defend deeper than Derby or Stoke did.

Hopefully we can still create the space for our forwards to get in behind.

Re: Redders

Just seen that Redders is now in charge of Liverpool Ladies in the Women's Super League. Won the second division with Doncaster Belles last season as well.

Glad that he's managed to make a success of his coaching, especially after the way he was treated by Cellino.

Re: Yosuke Ideguchi

Got a lovely assist in the u23 game.

Sounds like Bielsa rates him but as with Vieira he's not in this season's plans.

Said in his presser yesterday that he'll be moved one way or another by the end of the month.

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 15th Aug)

Yes. I think the same thing happened to Saiz after Christmas as the rest of our squad - beaten down confidence from general mismanagement. His Dall-off was just greater. Think Jansson is a little off full match fitness/sharpness. Not sure I'd start him on Saturday, but he has to be pushing for inclu...

Re: Leeds United v Bolton Wanderers - League Cup, Official matchday thread

Less convincing than the league games, but still didn't seem overly troubled. Good to see a bit of depth and the squad getting a run out. Thought Roberts and Bamford looked a little leggy from about 60 mins, so can't see them being starters any time soon. Impressed with Harrison - had the beating of...

Re: Leeds United v Bolton Wanderers - League Cup, Official matchday thread

Will be interesting to see how essentially a second 11 will do against Championship opposition. I'm sure Bolton will make changes as well, but all you can do is beat what's in front of you. Refreshing to see a coach not much about regarding selection in press conferences and just backing the players...
