Re: Would you expect to see a better Leeds team than this in the next 15 years?

Some great players there but wasn’t that the side that nearly got relegated the season after winning the title ?

Re: Man City v Watford - FA CUP FINAL

I used to watch Watford regularly in the late 60’s and early 70’s ( Barry Endean , Stuart Scullion , Mike Walker etc ) so I’ve got a soft spot for them and hope they win .

Re: Derby or Villa?

Can’t stand either club . Can’t stand Lampard . Can’t stand Smith . Can’t stand Terry . But to be able to laugh at Lampard not least for his wild celebrations in a pub as though they’d won the final , probably means I’d rather see Villa win . Sort of a choice between a root canal or a tooth extracti...

Re: Championship 18/19

I'll have to grit my teeth and hope it's Villa, if only so that the love-in for Lampard dies down sooner rather than later. It would be fitting for Keogh to cost them the game like he did in 2014. I've a horrible feeling they're going up though. I really do hope not . Lampard and co are still celeb...

Re: Championship 18/19

Not in the mood for congratulating Derby, I'm afraid. We gifted them that game, and both they and Villa have been graceless opponents this season. This . And the sight of Lampard celebrating last night is the stuff of nightmares. At least either him or John Terry are going to be massively disappoin...

Re: County Cricket Championship

I'm from Frimley/Camberley about 12 miles from Guildford. I live about a mile from the Hampshire border, my first postal address was Hampshire (even though we lived in Surrey) and dad took me to Hampshire games from the age of about 2 and before that he played for Fleet. Plus my heroes were Gordon ...

The best team to not win the World Cup. Total football, this video clip from YouTube, shows how to put pressure on your opponents when they have the ball. hfqTy2bJzmU A wonderful team Harry . I saw Cruyff play for Holland in a friendly at Wembley in 1977 . To this day I’ve never seen anything like ...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 3rd May)

As most people have already said , it’s very important that Bielsa stays and happily he seems to be indicating as much at the presser .

I’d have Gary Mac and Nigel Martyn from the last 25 Years .

Re: LUFC Greatest Moments

I didn't know that Billie :-D Giles is my favourite player along with Bremner Shame it was only a quarter-final, had it been a cup final it would have been hailed as one of the greatest performances not only here in the UK but worldwide too ! In his autobiography, Giles wrote “ this is the game tha...

Re: LUFC Greatest Moments

Viewers of ‘Match of the Day’ had been fed on a diet of Leeds United brilliance in the weeks before the FA Cup Quarter-Final clash with Tottenham Hotspur and in this match Spurs were devoured by Leeds United with another sizzling show. The famous 7-0 demolition of Southampton and the 5-1 thrashing ...

That gorgeous yellow away with the narrow blue& white trim.,and the socks to match that was '1975. And thought I was wee Billy . I bought that kit and remember keeping the packaging ( a plastic bag ) so I could put the kit back in it after it was washed . I kept up that routine for months . Believe...

The European Cup semi final second leg at the Nou Camp and listening to the game on the radio and the plaudits Leeds received afterwards ( I remember the Daily Mail headline the following morning to this day : “ Leeds , you were magnificent “ ) . The next day I had to go on a 20 mile walk for charit...

Re: Album Club Review - Springsteen/Stone Roses

Darkness on the Edge of Town. For me Darkness was Bruces' Growing up album . His 4th with the E-Street Band. His Adult voice was found in the characters of the songs on Darkness. After being neutered creatively by financial and contractual issues, with no music produced since his breakthrough Born ...

Re: Album Club Review - Springsteen/Stone Roses

Hi Billie, My favourite album has changed over the years, for a long time it was BITUSA maybe because it was the first one I owned. Then I went through phases, The River for its fun, Nebraska, on and off depending on my mood. But the one that gets the most airplay is The Rising. Some Bruce fans hat...

Re: Album Club Review - Springsteen/Stone Roses

Btw re Darkness have you ever listened to the 2010 Promise double CD with the Outtakes? Yes I have and it’s a good album in its own right , most of which stands up to repeat playing . That said , none of the songs feel like they should be on Darkness . Which is your favourite Springsteen album ? Mi...

Re: Album Club Review - Springsteen/Stone Roses

Bruce Springsteen Darkness on the Edge of Town . Years ago Springsteen said he was dissatisfied with this album because he “ underplayed and over sang “ ( I’ve no idea if he still holds that view ) And tbh that stuck with me until I saw him perform the whole album live from start to finish ( 2013 We...

Re: Bielsa Calls A Press Conference.

I see Jenas, Pearce, Collymore, Henry Winter, Matt Law, Keown must have missed this news as nothing has been said or demanded by them. :duno: Actually Collymore has been at it again in a column he writes for one of the Sunday rags . https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-un...
