Re: Pick your best starting XI with a twist

Rather than make wholesale changes I’ve rather lamely come up with Nigel Worthington at left back instead of Dorigo . Failing that there’s always Stuart Dallas ! As I now have space for Mark Viduka , he replaces Hasselbaink .

How could I forget that Dorigo actually played for England ! I’ll have a rethink and amend my team .

Re: Pick your best starting XI with a twist

Hi Leon , I saw something similar to this on Twitter last week but I managed to include 2 Australians in my team ( Dorigo and Viduka ) although no one seemed to notice . My team would be Schmeichel ( Denmark ) Radebe ( SA ) Charles ( Wales ) Jansson ( Sweden ) Madeley ( England ) Bremner ( Scotland ...

Re: Other fans opinions

It was a dreadful game, Billy's goal the highlight of the game for this eleven year old at the time. What a season after our promotion to Division One Runners-up to Man U pipped on goal average & FA Cup finalists Screenshot 2018-10-04 at 21.21.25.png Hi Leon , so near yet so far . I think Leeds los...

Re: Other fans opinions

This is entirely new information to me. Is there any proof ? Ive heard "Leeds, dirty on and off the pitch", ive had that said to me before, but i always assumed it was the hooligan stuff :duno: Hi Cjay , it’s an allegation that’s done the rounds for years . It was never proven . The attached is a l...

Jim Storrie badly injured but continued to stay on the pitch & hobbled around in much pain
I think Gerry Byrne was also injured early on in the game . The game was pretty dull by all accounts which Liverpool did deserve to win . Bremner’s equaliser was brilliant !

Says we were runners up in 64/65 69/70 and 72/73 so we must have been in 4 with the one we won?

Re: Other fans opinions

I think the Wolves “ controversy “ may be about the allegations that Don Revie tried to bribe them to throw the match . This also led to Gary Sprake becoming persona non grata for the part he played in the affair . As I remember the FA did agree to a postponement provided that Leeds agreed to not fi...

Re: Kevin Beattie.

He did play for England 9 times . Don Revie handed him is first cap when England beat Cyprus 5 - 0 and Malcolm Macdonald scored all five . Beattie had a goal disallowed . I was in the crowd that night as I used to go fairly regularly to watch England back then . Tremendous player whose career was bl...

Re: Come on England.

Mainly our own nerves and 52 years of barren hopes Leon. A lot of people don't understand that our best ever team was the 1970 lads who lost to West Germany when Banksy couldn't play and Alf subbed Bobby Charlton at half time. That was such a good team and the only one Brazil were genuinely worried...

I never skip breakfast now , I used to for years when I was working . Always a cereal for breakfast , nuts and seeds muesli, shredded wheat usually with chopped up almonds and raisins . I do have a protein shake on gym days . I don’t eat a cooked breakfast at all now , not even when I’m on holiday ....

Re: Name the players ?

It's the above 13 plus Sprake, Cocker and then Jordan in all probability, he'd been here since 70 whereas I'm not sure Frank had even arrived yet plus he would have been 17 The only other possibility is Nigel Davey is in the somewhere. Reserve left back who'd been at Leeds a while and was cover aft...

So that rules out Terry Cooper as he broke his leg in April 1972
There’s 14 players plus Revie and Cocker . Sprake certainly travelled down as part of the squad for the cup final so I think it’s probably him bending down .
