Re: Derby County v Leeds United - MATCH THREAD

Was great to have such a good result v Derby. MB has been mostly successful against them over 6 games, (one notable terrible half against them) - was also the opposition for his first and last away Championship games with Leeds.

Re: Shacks, Struijk and Poveda

I really enjoyed watching all three. Each seems to move well, play with the head up & pass well. Maybe all three can make an impact in the EPL. Let’s remember also that Tyler Roberts is a young player now with quite a deal of experience who also has the three characteristics mentioned above. Was...

Re: ITS HAPPENING

I was ecstatic in 1990 after 8 years out of the top league, doubly so now after 16.
Huge congrats to players, MB & staff, AR & staff, and especially to the loyal fans.
EPL Day 1 2020/21 will be an ultra special occasion.

Cheers,

Re: Leeds United VS 'Boro/Match day thread

It was disappointing to have neither goals nor much genuinely exciting goalmouth action. Considering the Middlesbrough approach we did well to produce some extended patches of our football, only lacking a bit of class around the box. Both defences were organised & resilient, BPF a commanding per...

Re: Norwich City v Leeds United Official matchday thread

Another convincing and entertaining performance as well as a welcome return to winning form after the struggles in South Wales earlier in the week. The win was built on the high standard of play produced by so many players across the team, not to mention the high degree of coordination between playe...

Re: Derby County versus Leeds United Official match day thread

Plenty to like about the team so far - some exhilarating play at times, an ability to prise open the defences of decent opposition and generally an air of quiet confidence that the players in the team know what they are doing individually and collectively. Definitely it’s been helpful to get first h...

Re: Bailey Peacock-Farrell

Was BPF that heavily hyped prior to getting a run of games late last season? Thought he has played well, although not flawlessly, this season. Other than the goal and a patch of errant kicking he contributed well to the win over DCFC. Then again, there was a degree of errant kicking out of defence b...

Re: Sheff Wed v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings....

Strangely the pattern of play in this match resembled quite closely a high profile football match of another code played 30+ hours previously on the MCG. In the AFL Grand Final the higher ranked Adelaide Crows started particularly well against an apparently more nervous underdog Richmond Tigers who ...

Re: Leeds v Burton - Man Of The Match

It really is great to have the difficulty of leaving excellent players off the best player list rather than the difficulty of trying to pick the best of a bad lot. Last season was a step up from previous, now the bar has been raised again. These opening 8 matches couldn't be more different than last...

Re: Photos from the Burton Game

Yes, fabulous photos 64 - great job. Really captures what appears to be the players' genuine enjoyment of their work.
Seems nothing could dampen their enthusiasm.

I'm sensing that the renewed club structure since end of season 16/17 is creating a high performance environment.

Re: Leeds v Burton Teams/ Reports/ Ratings.

Did Akioski play during international break? maybe twice?
Might be a bit tired and flat & therefore better value coming on later in game.
Subs bench is definitely heavy with attackers.

Re: Leeds v Burton Teams/ Reports/ Ratings.

It would be way OTT to say that this is the most important match so far but it is fair enough to recognise it as a highly significant encounter. The Clough factor, our struggles against The Brewers last season, our lack of a home league win & goal despite scoring for fun in the Cup are considera...

Re: The THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN Appreciation Thread

It's great that TC has made such a positive impression and that the team is well placed in two comps in this opening phase of the season - makes it so much more enjoyable following the Mighty Whites (or Blacks, at times). Hopefully the positive tone of discussion will continue after quite a few more...

Ah yes, Liam O'K. Thank you.
Was at Forest for years on staff after playing - probably finished prior to the EC wins.

Re: Sunday Breakfast Debate - Eunan O'Kane

EO'K was quite impressive earlier in season 16/17 and seemed to work well with one or other of the young CMs. I thought he was a factor in our surge up the table. He took a while to get going again after injury then could barely get a run, even off the bench. Was reintroduced very (too) late in the ...

Re: Pre season Austria - v Borussia Mönchengladbach...1.15pm

After a scratchy, delayed start (missed our goal live) I fortunately got most of the LUTV streaming. Was a decent hit out for the lads v. reasonable opposition. Seems we used 4-2-3-1 throughout. I thought all players showed a bit, some more than others obviously. No spot for Antonssen & the Douk...
