Re: 2019 Women's World Cup

Enjoyed the tournament immensely, especially after they got into the knockout rounds and the wheat was separated from the chaff. Was initially disappointed that the Germans got upset in the group stages, but the more I saw of the Dutch team, the more I was convinced the better team won through to th...

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup - England v USA this evening

Disappointed by the number of commenters here saying they wouldn't watch the women's game because of the perceived low level of play. We all watch Leeds unfailingly even though our boys don't play to the level of Liverpool or Real Madrid, don't we? The quality of play among the women has risen drama...

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup - England v USA this evening

Very well played game. Some thoughts....... The penalty awarded was extremely soft, but the PK was also, so no harm done On balance, I would say the score was not a reflection of the game. England were at least as good as the USA and took the game to them for large parts of the second half. The disa...

England v USA now in the semi-finals.

Ought to be a great game. England are playing very well right now.

Needless to say, I will be rooting for the winner of this game in the final.

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup

From what I've seen of it, the USA are a cut above the rest and will most likely meet Germany in the final. The USA won't get past France if they play the way they did against Spain. Spain exposed their back four as being average, and France can put the ball in the back of the net. Further, France ...

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup

England, France, Brazil. and USA all in the same half of the draw.

Ridiculous, especially with France having to play Brazil in the round of 16 with the winner likely to meet the USA in the quarter-finals.

Good day to be German.

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup

Local bar here in Illinois ran a promotion giving away free shots for every USA goal vs. Thailand.

Lot of very inebriated football fans. Uber did quite well.
