Cristiano Ronaldo

https://mobile.twitter.com/RameshUtd/status/1008422616556711936 Prefer Lionel Messi as a player, as a technical footballer. But as an athlete. Ronaldo is a machine. He is 33 years old and doing 38kph sprints. Said he wants to play into his 40s, and he probably can. His dedication to his fitness is e...

English Player Values

Why is it that English clubs put such ludicrous valuations on there English players? Kyle Walker- A very good full back, but £50million pounds? Jordan Pickford- A decent goalkeeper, had one ok season at Sunderland relatively speaking, £30million pounds? Danny Drinkwater- Had that 1 great season at L...

Re: Championship 18/19

Forest signed Diogo Goncalves on loan from Benfica and broke there transfer fee signing Joao Carvalho for £13-14mil. Forest fans very excited, expecting to be the next Wolves, fair enough. But Mendes sent Wolves Ruben Neves- experienced (for his age) player. And Diogo Jota who had had a good season ...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 15 June)

Personally i dont see a problem with saying "player a is crap".

If a players not good enough then there not good enough.

Although Liam Cooper (who is crap) tweeted a welcome to Bielsa, got some ridiculous abuse. That was uncalled for.

Re: Transfers. Signings Rumours and Wishes.

YEP reporting we remain interested in Stockdale but wages are an issue. Surely if he is such a Leeds fan he'd take a wage cut? Never on earth is he a 40k a week goalie. . 15k at most. Reports suggesting Wolves have offered Hernandez £57k a week and a £5mil signing on fee. They can have him for that,...

Those rating Klich, what are you basing it on? Genuine question have you seen him play well?

Reading reports Bielsa doesn’t want Abel Hernandez, he wants Vydra.
Burnley, thought he was brilliant.

Re: Transfers. Signings Rumours and Wishes.

Reports in Holland saying we are interested in dutch international striker Wout Weghorst.

27 and 18 goals in all competitions for AZ last 2 seasons.

Holland debut in March vs England.

6ft6 powerful forward similar to Gignac and Llorente who Bielsa liked.

Fee of around £10mil.

Re: Matej Vydra Vs Abel Hernandez vs Fernando Torres

(1)Fernando Torres - Pipe dream but if it can be done he is my pick. May be 34 but you look at some of the ageing strikers like Leon Clarke, Billy Sharp etc who did well last year. Torres even at 34 is twice the player that 90% of championship strikers will ever be. 2) Matej Vydra- Even as a number ...

Matej Vydra Vs Abel Hernandez vs Fernando Torres

Phil Hay saying Bielsa prefers Vydra, so who would be a better signing? Cost wise Vydra is more expensive, a transfer fee probably close to £10mil, wages around the £40k mark. Abel Hernandez is a free agent. Wages similar to Vydra. Abel Hernandez is 28 in August. Championship record with minutes pla...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Excellent read Cjay  Hopefully Bielsa would bring us the success we all crave for ! Certainly don't want Bruce anywhere near ER Indeed Leon, the writer did his research  Every appointment is a risk. But a Championship club attracting a manager of that standing is unheard of. Hopefully as ...

Really well written pal.

I suppose with Bielsa its more exciting - its the unknown...

On the downside - its the unknown... :)
I applaud the Villa fan who took the time to research him to write that.

Its all very exciting :)

@PhilHayYEP

A source close to Marcelo Bielsa tells me he intends to sign his contract tonight and will become Leeds United's next head coach. #lufc

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Do tell.... He's very demanding and I think that goes against him as well as for him. Ancelotti was out of work up until recently, I'll assume you'd take him? Agree his tendency to leave when things don't go his way is concerning and not what Aston Villa need at this point in time. That said we d...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Afternoon Cjay LATEST Phil Hay‏@PhilHayYEP To give you an example: message from Bielsa's camp yesterday morning said it was at yes or no stage. Bielsa had made his amendments and was waiting for an answer. Salary not in dispute. But the chances are, Leeds will go back with amendments of their own. ...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thur 14 June)

Update from Guillem Balague (one of the few id believe). Not true Bielsa has work permit as that will come when/if he signs contract that is now in his brother's hands, a top level lawyer in communication with Leeds. Club very hopeful of things moving positively but no timetable to when confirmation...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 13 June)

That makes sense. Where we are we can't really afford to give him a long term deal, but if he gets us up it will be extended. Yeah works for us both. He gets a decent wage, some security if he wants it, but should a bigger better offer come in down the line his compensation buyout wouldnt be to mas...

Re: The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wed 13 June)

Better to have a manager telling Orta and Radz how things shall be then them telling him ?

We tried them telling a manager what to do last season, time for role reversal.

Good coaches make demands, PE teachers just nod and say yes to anything.

DOnt know how Roofe got involved in a discussion about the great Messi of Macedonia. 29 games 14 goals 3 assists for Roofe. 35 games 7 goals 5 assists for Alioski. I would argue Alioski made a difference in bigger games, against Derby, against Boro, got the goal vs Wolves to give us hope, got the as...
