Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 19th July) - James Chester, Roofe's contract and other news

Doesn't surprise me one jot, we were hopeless at shooting for much of the season We couldn't even score from the few penalties awarded to us Pablo went close a couple of times from set-piece free-kicks but not good enough. Douglas, Bamford, Alioski were rubbish I think we scored only a handful of h...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 19th July) - James Chester, Roofe's contract and other news

This will surprise everyone

Leeds completed the whole of the 2018/19 league campaign having failed to score from a single direct free-kick.

The last one we scored was Pablo Hernandez's effort v Burton on Dec 26th 2017. Yes, 2017.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 19th July) - James Chester, Roofe's contract and other news

People keep saying we're weak from set pieces, but I've seen no stats to back that up. I'm sure most goals we conceded from set pieces were direct. Most goals we conceded seemed to be from open play or errors. Flint isn't mobile enough for this system. Fits into a Pulis/Mowbray hoof-style team well...

Then sell him for zilch but with a sell on in case he gets good...Better than an outright release. I'd ask for 50% of any future sale.
The club see that he is worth 1.5m, and think they can recoup that elsewhere

Hi all,

Q: What's the difference between Whelan and a jet engine?

A: Every now and then the jet engine stops whining

What about Cibiki can't Elfsborg afford?
Indeed. Leeds asked for a certain fee. Elfsborg say they don't have the money.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 19th July) - James Chester, Roofe's contract and other news

Morning All, Yes, I think James Chester would be a good addition to the squad but it may only be media talk. We sell Jansson and Chester is surplus to requirements at Villa - the media see a link and make a story out of it. I think Chester is a bit more mobile than Flint although Flint is a huge un...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Fri 19th July) - James Chester, Roofe's contract and other news

We need a experienced leader-type CB who can organise our defence Always impressed with Chester, seen him play several times Proper CB, not a makeshift one Morning Leon, yes, Chester would be a good signing. Is he worth almost as much again as Jansson? Jansson sold for 4m Chester available for 7.5m...

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Thursday 18th July)

According to the Daily Star Leeds are after Villa centre back James Chester. Chester is currently out in America with the Aston Villa squad and he has established himself as a fan favourite with his no-nonsense displays as Villa won promotion back to the Premier League last season. However Dean Smit...
