Re: MOT campaign

I bloody hate the clapping.

Na na na na's and hands in the air is how it should be, no clapping! No clapping during WACCOE either for that matter.

Clapping is lazy.

Re: Question about the Peacock

Maybe the area around Elland Road was in days gone by and old country estate or possibly it was just a trend at the time to use this name. I've not found much on the history of Beeston online, will have to go 'old school' and drag my arse down the library I think but did find the website below. Thi...

Re: Question about the Peacock

Found these photos of the OLD Old Peacock, in the second you can see the Scratching shed. No dates on the photos though the comments suggest occupancy from before 1871 and that it was knocked down to make way for the new one in around 1964. http://www.leodis.net/imagesLeodis/screen/22/20031112_31484...

All footballers sniff, I think they must teach it to them at the accademy. As well as saying 'erm' and 'you know'.

Re: Question about the Peacock

I've been reviewing a couple of maps. the first is from 1893, its not great quality but you can clearly see both pubs marked. The next is from 1909 where agin both pubs are visible, this case in context with the football ground. Twiggs will like it because its from before they turned the pitch round...

Re: An apology to Johnny Howson.

Think back to the start of the season when due to Killa and Naylors injuries was given both the pivitol central midfield role and the captaincy and carried them both out with aplom. This was probably the part of the season when we played our best football, got our best results but people seem to for...

Re: Question about the Peacock

Elland Road was originally called The Old Peacock ground after the pub opposite so it has been there a long time. see attached which mentions Twiggsters reference to Bentleys Brewery, who originally owned the land http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elland_Road#Early_history That first quote is the reason...

Question about the Peacock

I'm aware that there was a pub further up Elland Road called the New Peacock which was demolished in the mid seventies due to the construction of the motorway. My question is was the Old Pecock build as a direct replacement during this time or did they ever coexist?

Re: Check your balls....

Very good but what about women's cancers? Its a bit sexist if you ask me, afterall, women as well as men go to football matches. I would suggest because this is an area that men do not like to talk about and so they do not check, also the majority of people who go to football matches are men and so...

Re: swindon stats say it all

Lubo is sh1t but i'm not criticising Grayson yet, aslong as there were injury problems. Maybe he should have put Hughsey to RB and put white on LB. Still will be glad to have Rui back. Has been poor Lubo but when he got his chance at the start of the season I thought he played well and hast done mu...

Re: Team for Colchester

I think Becchio should definitely start, Naylor if he's fit as well with Bronby then at right back. Not sure about starting with White but Gradel to give us a bit of pace on the wing, maybe Snoddy on the left. Not sure about centre midfield though.
