Re: Pre season Austria - v Borussia Mönchengladbach...1.15pm
Hopefully AR will have taken note of the complete failure (second half stream worked fine) in the first half and will be getting the relevant people in to sort it out - after all this is his area of expertise and in LU opting out of the Football League deal they need to ensure they can deliver the product.

LUTV could learn a thing or two about live streaming from the Turks... and we think Turkey is a backward nation technologically,
so where does that put us?
so where does that put us?

Re: Pre season Austria - v Borussia Mönchengladbach...1.15pm
Thanks to the ineptness of LUTV, I only managed to see 60 minutes of the game. In the end I gave up on the O/S & watched it on another link.
Thought we looked a decent side today, passed the ball well, created plenty of chances & deserved to win a match we dominated for long periods
New boys
Wiedwald - a real footballing goalie, confident on the ball
Pennington - looks a decent footballer
Gomes - steady & comfortable with the ball
Anita - played RB & looks a very competent defender
Alioski - unfair to make a judgement on his 20 minutes I witnessed
Ekuban - pacy
Saiz - comfrotable & tidy with the ball
Old boys
Ayling - lively as ever, took his goal well
Sacko - well Sacko is Sacko
Roofe - very lively, unlucky not to score with a shot on turn which hit the underside if the bar
Hernandez - seemed a bit stronger, lively & passed the ball well
Vieira - made some good tackles & interceptions
Wood - hope he's got the sitter he missed out of the way today, missed a couple of other chances

Wonder if LUTV had further problems relating to streaming to the UK as for me it worked fine for a couple of minutes at the start of the first half then went off but was then okay again around the 40 minute mark and all of second half.

Thank you Swan I'll take that as a complimentwhiteswan wrote:I prefer to read the MOT updates....( you guys know who you are )

Thank god for the stream from Joker which was excellent I have say. their name is more appropriate to LUFC's inept coverage
I see the YEP have reported on their dismal streaming of the game so I reckon Radz will be keen to put things right pretty quickly

Excellent! I shall look forward to it. I enjoy your post match reports 64, and I can't count the amount of times when Leeds were playing I turned Eddie Thom off so i could dip in to MOT......1964white wrote:Thank you Swan I'll take that as a compliment

Re: Pre season Austria - v Borussia Mönchengladbach...1.15pm
After a scratchy, delayed start (missed our goal live) I fortunately got most of the LUTV streaming.
Was a decent hit out for the lads v. reasonable opposition.
Seems we used 4-2-3-1 throughout. I thought all players showed a bit, some more than others obviously. No spot for Antonssen & the Douk - anyone else miss out?
Interesting to see Ayling get a run at LB - attacked well I thought.
Is Gomes a possible backup at LB?
Anita only playing RB at this stage.
Connor S's has looked quite composed at the back in both games in Austria - what's his background?
Pennington imposed himself on the game & seems a classy player.
I liked Alioski's work rate & confidence - looks an impressive two way player. Is he already earmarked for starting XI?
Roofe had some good moments - was that he who put in the incredible early ball from the right that Wood somehow managed to bundle wide?
It's interesting that the Coach has generally used a familiar line up (with tweaks) to begin the two Austrian tour games.
No doubt team will evolve as players & coaches settle into Championship football.
Do we have enough of the right personnel to pick up early season points and give our promotion campaign some momentum?
Cheers,
CS69

Wood had a stinker also missing an empty net first half. Hopefully getting it out of the system. Roofe also (I think) played in Ayling for the goal (bad picture) and was one of our better players

Re: Pre season Austria - v Borussia Mönchengladbach...1.15pm
Could be a tricky season for Wood as he hasn't really had a rest due to New Zealand having games all summer (not to mention all the flights midseason too). The worry is that physically it will take its toll and rather than being unfit he could simply not be fully sharp with a bit of mental and physical tiredness.
The match certainly showed a lot of promise with lots of players getting into attacking positions and having shots - I would expect this to continue with our flexible way of playing and what we now have to do is make the most of the chances we create as the system will leave us exposed at times defensively.
Roofe certainly seems to be enjoying his role which seems to give him a lot of license to get into the box - what he needs to do though is find his shooting boots again as he seems to be cursed in front of goal. If he can rediscover his ability to put the ball in the net then there is no reason why he shouldn't get 15 goals this season.
Alioski certainly looks like a player that his teammates will really appreciate as he was full of energy and putting the opposition under pressure when they had the ball. Given his ability to score and create, albeit in a different country, different level etc, he could be a real star for us. A shame that he gave away the free kick that led to their goal and it may be that once the rest of the team gets used to him tracking back like that they can find ways where he would harrass the opposition player with the ball and force him into an area where someone else can make the tackle when facing the right way.
Sacko has hopefully got his confidence back. It was great to see him shimmy his way past their defender with excellent footwork and pace. Admittedly the shot was dragged wide, and his final ball is still the weakest part of his game, but it was encouraging that he created the chance out of nothing, whereas at the end of last season he would have probably just stood on the ball and fallen over as his confidence was shot to pieces. A confident Sacko with the right coaching to improve his final ball could be a very good player.

What's happened/happening with the Eibar game?
According to the 'next game' feature on here it should have been played 1am Sunday 23/7 Sydney time, which would have been 4pm in the UK on Saturday 22/7

Re: Pre season Austria - v Eibar.....today
The official site seems to specialise in not showing important information.
Once again they are struggling to put up photos of the new players in the players section (no photo of Felix and still got Silvestre on there) - so amateurish really hope AR gets to grips with the website as it is appalling that things like that, which only take a couple of minutes to update, aren't done properly.

In fact most of the new signings don't seem to exist - no photo and not even a photo box and name.
