Absolute faves are The Damned, seen them loads of times and are very tight on stage. Captain is a true performer and DV a great voice....dig out their Live Shepperton album, well worth a listen!

Others in the top 5 would be Sex Pistols, PIL, The Clash and Dead Kennedys.

Post Punk I’d go for Pixies, The Von Bondies, New Model Army, Sonic Youth and Jesus and Mary Chain......probably change my mind when I think of a few more

Yeah I did do a Google and that seemed to be the consensus, also said that being a punk band is “nebulous” :duno:

See I'd call Sisters Goth, is goth a form of punk?

As would I, but born out of the same post-punk movement, imo. Look at Siouxsie, punk figurehead and also what so many goth girls aspire to look like. Not the most robust argument, but I think 'Goth' is post punk!

On the playlist over the last week

Siouxsie And The Banshees 'Juju' - their best imo!

Doors 'Doors' - superb debut, intending to listen to the rest of the Doors back catalogue so I can come up with my top ten songs

Kate Bush 'Before The Dawn' - shame i never got to see Kate but this 3CD live set is excellent compensation

June Tabor & the Oysterband 'Ragged Kingdom' - one of Tabor's best

The Fall 'Interim' - originally title to be 'Cocked', cracking live album

Surprisingly I haven't got or heard the Morrissey album apart from the song 'Spent The Day In Bed'

Heard snippets of the Dead South album.....'In Hell I'll Be in Good Company' is one of Jill & my favourite new songs atm, Jill loves the youtube clip

How highly do you rate the Morrissey/Dead South albums?

Don't know the Polaris album :duno:

Got the Morrissey album when it came out but only played it twice but had it on a lot the last week or so, really like it.
The Dead South is a great toe tapper, I prefer Good Company, my other half prefers the other one. Can't wait to see them next month, a fun night expected.

Polaris is an early project of one of my favourite solo artists, Mark Mulcahy.
