Re: HORSE RACING CHALLENGE : NAP OF THE DAY
I think Talent Scout will need the ground to dry out considerably as he hates the softer surface, has been made a non-runner six times because of the unsuitable going otherwise has a chance if he can handle the conditions. Big price & I can see me looking over my shoulders at the offgessa wrote:Beverley 3.15 Talent Scout £5 ew

Sorry Seadog I blame my Mrs
Jill has a habit of picking horses by their names taking note of the decent trainers & her favourite jockeys. Anyway whilst choosing her nag from the daily rag she ask me to check the form of Sennockian Star unbeknown to me at the time that you had selected it.
I was struggling to find one although the then favourite Promising Run in the Listed race at Goodwood made plenty of appeal at the time, had not been seen on the racecourse for six months was my real nagging doubt !
On checking Sennockian Star's form it was quite apparent to me that the shrewd Middleham trainer Mark Johnston could have been pulling a fast one running SS on turf in his last dozen races in an effort to get it's handicap mark down as he clearly doesn't like the grass surface anymore. SS loves the AW courses though particularly Lingfield, Chelmsford & Kempton winning twice at today's racetrack over the distance off a much lower mark. Won three AW races earlier this year so SS is worth a punt at 14/1.
Mark Johnston also has a fine % strike-rate at the AW tracks
