Played it the other day and she has a new fan, in my 16 yr old niece, she's really into her female singers.

Like these running shuffles - do you have a set of lists (as you said you have a running song followed by a walking song) or does it just work out like that sometimes?

I have a gym playlist which I shuffle, though I've thought about setting an order so I up the intensity in the middle and then trail off. This was last night's though:

Queens of the Stone Age - You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like A Millionaire (this is always first)
Bloc Party - Flux
LITE - Infinite Mirror (waaaay too intense for such an early one)
Backstreet Boys - Larger Than Life ( :P )
Future of the Left - Small Bones Small Bodies
Sex Bob-omb - Threshold
Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy, Hey Girl
Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
Lady Gaga & Beyonce - Telephone
Run The Jewels - Blockbuster Night Part 1

I have a (semi) complicated way of preparing these..

I have 3 folders on my desktop for 5 min songs, 8 min songs and 3 min songs..

i then use Audacity and make songs that I like exactly the right length. All the songs in each folder are then automatically renamed with a number, so I don't know what song is what. :P

i then use merge mp3 to put the lengths together in the order I want.. however I do not know what songs are going to come on, nor in what order... (I like a bit of mystery whilst running)

ie 1st is always 5 mins as is a walk up the hill to the start of the woods.
Next is now 8 min track for running
then 3 min, then 5 then 3 etc..
next month it will be 5, 8, 3, 8, 3 5, and keep increasing until I am out for an hour each time, but increasing distances.

I used to be mega fit, and run marathons etc for fun... The Brecon beacons were just a bit of a hilly training run.. but 10 years and 3 stone have slowed me down a bit.. ( I blame stopping smoking) 8-)

so once the tracks are the right length and numbered, it is just as though I had shuffle on...

No timed tracks today as friday is best effort day, without set walking times...

Xanadu - Rush
Down by the Seaside - Robert Plant and Tori Amos. must be the dullest most dreadful dirge that I have heard since some of Chicago's stuff, copldplay, and the Leonard Cohen....
Wish you were here _ Floyd
Freebird (live) - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Torch - Soft Cell
Ziggy Stardust - Bowie
Weep - Skin
Angel flying too close - Willie Nelson
My Friend Stan - Slade
Lemon song - zep

This may take a while.

First up, Tony Patterson and Brendon Eyre - Northlands (24:03 of it...)
Allan Holdsworth - Wish
Gandalf's Fist - Nexus
Anathema - Unchained (Tales of the Unexpected)
Kate Bush - In the Warm Room
Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet (live)
The Killers - Mr Brightside (Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Remix)
Dang - Tantalus
Mastodon - Curl of the Burl
Anthony Phillips - Postlude - End of the Season
Music so wishes to be heard that it sometimes calls on unlikely characters to give it voice...

And what is your perfectly reasonable excuse for the New Seekers??... ( I have one myself if you would like to beg steal or borrow it (see what I did there?) I was in their fan club in the early 70's...)

Oh... How long... are you sure it was the Eagles and not Ace?

The copy of "Jackie: The Album" that is ripped to my iTunes is there as a dizzy friend bought an iPod but didn't realise you needed a computer to put the music on it...
