Love Set the Prairie on fire, will get nominated at some point. So laconic with a magnificent organ break from Booker T. The Wansel is late TSOP from around 77 and Black Carrot are known as the weirdest band from Market Harborough and one of Robert Wyatt favourite bands apparently

I have a lot of obscure stuff tbh

Faaip & I love it
I'll give it a listen :moggy:

Waiting for my Halloumi to drain (was bought a cheese making kit at Xmas and eventually got round to doing it this afternoon - but it takes ages. I started when the Grand Prix finished and I've still got another 25 mins of pressing/draining to go and even then you need to faff with it even more. My tip - just buy it from the supermarket !)

...so a 1st 10 Sunday evening shuffle, whilst waiting

1. Michelle Shocked - Fog Town
2. Mr Probz - Waves
3. Alberta Cross - Leave Us and Forgive Us
4. T.Rex - Monolith
5. Whitesnake - Child of Babylon
6. Furniture - Brilliant Mind
7. Billy Swan - I Can Help
8. Stiff Little Fingers - Wasted Life
9. The Steepwater Band - A Lot of Love Around
10. The Cult - The Witch

I have their first self titled on vinyl, bought it after seeing them at Reading Festival 1980, I think it was that one anyway.
2 bands that never made it to fame from that era but i liked were Broken Home and RAF. Have their stuff on vinyl too. The BH vocalist did have some minor sucess, Dicken - Romeo.

RAF I've heard of ...Liner too, spawned out of Blackfoot Sue before they became Outside Edge, bumped into Eddie Golga at a funeral a couple of years ago. Another band from your neck of the word. Prolific in the seventies.

Brum and most places 20 miles north were great for live music in the 70's,could see a band 7 nights and 2 afternoons every week, for peanuts or often free Sunday-Thursday.
