I base managers purely on results, so Redfearn is as good as any. Results might not be instant but at least he'll unite the dressing room. There's no theories or formulas for which managers do well at which clubs. Allardyce and Pardew were being hounded out by their fans and are now instant somewhat heroes in their respective clubs. Pellegrini was flying high last season and can't seem to get the team gelling; keeping their head above water based solely on results. Van Gaal was a master tactician, but is struggling to plug a leaky defence and to get some of the best strikers in the world scoring. It doesn't matter if your British, foreign, old, young, successful, inexperienced, tough, friendly, etc. etc.; you must be a right fit for the club, the players and the league you will be playing in.

I know some people are under-awed by Redfearn being made permanent, and I know some would rather have a foreign coach in, but that doesn't matter to me. I want someone who is passionate about Leeds and who is going to get this plethora of talent at Leeds playing to the best of their abilities. As I've said before; Redfearn is that man.

Redfearn has signed a 12-month rolling contract with the option of a further year or returning to the academy.

Cellino doesn't give managers contracts as long as this!

Just seen that Redders is now in charge of Liverpool Ladies in the Women's Super League. Won the second division with Doncaster Belles last season as well.

Glad that he's managed to make a success of his coaching, especially after the way he was treated by Cellino.

Working at a level where a simple bit of organisation works wonders - same as many english coaches, including Southgate, he is okay doing that but not going to be innovative or be able to make changes in the match when things are going wrong.
