Another teenage icon gone.

Only on Friday evening, I was watching a crappy Tarantino film, and all of a sudden my favourite Bowie track popped up to make me smile. Needless to say , Tarantino had ripped it off from another film.

RIP David

I'm not ashamed to admit i'm in tears with this sad news, this has affected me as much as Marvin Gaye's death

Bowie's legendary status is up there with Lennon & Presley

Thank you David for your music & the memories

Genuinely shocked when I woke to this sad news this morning. An innovator, chameleon and musical genius, we won't see his likes again. RIP Starman

I didn't know he was ill with cancer. So this is a complete shock.

Bowie is probably one of a very few artist's that, even if you weren't a big fan, there was something of his you'd like.

RIP

His acquired new album destined to reach the No.1 spot 8-) posted up a track on here a couple of months ago. No doubt will be a contender for Album of 2016 for me

Sad news, indeed.

"legend" doesn't do him justice.

Legend is a term that is branded about too easily these days...

However... this man was a real legend, and will always be so......

Despite his music being part of the soundtrack of my life, my contact with Bowie has always been peripheral. I don't own a single song of his. Undoubtedly one of the most influential musicians of his generation (and a couple more) he always kept moving on, trying new things, collaborating with the great and the good.

As I heard the news this morning, I was genuinely shocked - but then, now, in death as in life, he never lost the capacity to surprise.

RIP
Music so wishes to be heard that it sometimes calls on unlikely characters to give it voice...

Like barryanorak, he's never been among my favourites, but I do appreciate what a seminal writer and performer he has always been. His death is probably a loss to equal that of John Lennon and Freddy Mercury.
Sleep well David.
