Re: today I have been mostly listening to..............
some of the Youtube comments liken it to Bowie...
But I can't see it myself..
He did however write it himself, so there may be a talent in there.....

Smooth FM as they play the top 100 songs voted by listeners
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

A more soulful offering off the latest E B album.
A more soulful, blusey offering, a switch from her normal folk style.

Absolutely love Elkie Brooks. I was lucky enough to see her live in concert here in Ipswich. What a talent. Yes Bert you are right. I'd also forgotten how many great songs she recorded.beer belly bert wrote:The new Elkie brooks greatest hits album

Is that the same Riot that was about in the late 70's early 80's ?8ballali wrote:I are been mostly lissnin to Riot, Nightbreaker.
If so I saw them as support to someone who I forget now, was impressed by them so bought the Narita album, played it lots back in the day, not seen the turntable for a long time now though. May have to get it back out and give it a whirl.

Yes. I believe it is.gessa wrote:

Nightbreaker is the only album I've heard by them though.
I figured they were from the seventies, as they don't sound as Americanised as most 80's groups.
There's a brilliant cover of Deep Purples Burn on it.
These days i only usually listen to music in tge car, on school runs. Once the kids aren't in the car, the radio is off, and my flashdrive is on. Then its Riot, Nazareth, Avantasia, Stratovarius, and Edguy to my hearts content. Oh, and an album i created for the kids years ago. I used to put it on for them when they went to bed. Things like Ernie the fastest milkcart in the west, three wheels on my wagon, o'Raffertys motorcar, Jake the peg, My brother, The Unicorn, The mouse in the windmill, the laughing policeman, Two little boys, Tie me kangaroo down sport, Murphy and the bricks, and puff the magic dragon. Things like that.

Burn is one of my top Purple tracks, Glenn Hughes' voice on the live version is superb.
Wow I remember all those songs on the kids mix
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: today I have been mostly listening to..............
I'm partial to a bit of Purple myself. Love the Stormbringer album. Had an album i forget the name of, but had painted horse, and child in time on it.gessa wrote:

Fantastic tracks. Once borrowed Deep Purple album off a mate. I think it was called Motorhead. Loved it.

Loved all the Purple albums 72-75 . Child In Time was originally on In Rock, not sure of an album with a Horse on, perhaps a best of type.8ballali wrote:I'm partial to a bit of Purple myself. I think it's Machine Head you mean, great album too.
I once lent my Burn album to a mate who then left the area with my album too, last time I lent an album to anyone.
