Re: Cricket 2017
I'm a big fan of all formats of the game (I know 64 and Haighy arent faaip) and I'm really looking forward to this match. Its right what 64 says that it allows people to attend after work. It certainly works that way with the one dayers and T20, the crowd begins to swell the later it gets so its a yes from me.

It'll be interesting to see how it changes the game. We know the difference between the red and the white ball changes the dynamic significantly so what will the pink ball do? Also are they wearing whites or colours ? Then there's dew. So will day night cricket be less about skill and more about external factors?

I'm a big fan of 20/20 but it's basically a form of baseball and we need to treat it as such. I'd have a lot more of it including weekend double headers. Arrange it baseball style with say 30-40 league games per season plus playoffs at the end and an extended 5 match final. No reason that during the 20/20 season most teams can't play 4-6 games a week

That's a problem when I play bowls, the green noticeably slows up although we are generally finished by 8.30pm, hate playing when it raining as the game becomes a bit of a lotteryfaaip wrote:It'll be interesting to see how it changes the game. Five matches coming up next week, two on Monday. What with getting up at 4.30am plus two away footy trips coming up I'll be knackered by a week on Sunday :sleep3:

Re: Cricket 2017
Never mind England, Yorksire have just made a sensational 260-4 in their latest T20 with Lyth top scoring with 161. They had the world record of 263 in sight when they had made 249-1 with two overs to go but a flurry of wickets slowed the momentum. Great effort though. :clap2:
Re: Cricket 2017
What a night for Yorkshire, wish I was there
A magnificent 161 of 73 balls for Adam Lyth hitting 7 x 6's & 20 x 4's
Yorks beat the English highest T20 score but just failed by 4 runs to break the world record score
I believe Lyth & Root were out more or less out simultaneously
