Stuart Broad was given the pink ball this morning for the first time so he could have a bowl and give his thoughts. He thought it was superb to bowl with, something to do with the seam being a bit thicker and the lacquer covering. Used in the County Championship today for the first time I believe.

Another magnificent half-century from Joe Root, the quickest 50 scored by an England captain

Great to see Anderson back too !

Yes, good old Joe. Flicking between the ladies final and the cricket. Stokes is finding it hard out there...

Bairstow doing it now

Where would England be without Yorkshire

Feeble batting from England

Yorkshire - 150
Extras - 15
The rest - 40

205 all out

Don't think Jennings is a test player, fairly sure Ballance isn't a test player. Dawson has never had the skills or temperament to be a test player.

No idea where this Dawson is good enough thing has come from, would have thought there were a dozen better test spinners out there Mason Crane included (though he is a true number 11) I do think Crane has the tools to become the best leg spinner we've had since I can remember but maybe Rashid for now, as he can bat and field

Dawson is a good tie down one end limited overs bowler so no problem with him in the 50 over team and maybe the 20/20 version. Apparently Root wanted him to play so he got in.

He just doesn't look a test batsman. Needs to be dropped soon

His technique is poor.

Easy to earn a cap these days

Malan like Vince have excellent technique but like Vince I feel Malan has probably been ruined by 20/20 cricket.
