Monkees, Clash, Simon and Garfunkel. I was at sea on all the rest.

Great quiz.

Odd fact: I don't believe The Who (who get my vote for the greatest rock band ever) ever had a #1 single in the US.

Correct John surprisingly The Who never had a No.1 single in the USA or the UK

The supreme Who's Next is their only No.1 album in the UK

I actually The Who twice including Live at Leeds 8-)

The Who never had a #1 single OR album in the US. Quadrophenia and Who Are You both made it to #2; nothing else ever higher than #4.

Saw The Who six times, but only once with Moon, and it remains the single greatest concert I have ever seen bar none. They recovered a lot of that fire when Zak Starkey joined the band, but it was never quite the same. And how could it have been? It wasn't just the man, it was also the times. The world has moved a lot since the early 1970's, alas.

My jealousy over the Live at Leeds show knows no bounds. You were there for the single greatest rock concert ever; they were quite obviously happy to be home after a long time on the road in the US.

Initially the live recordings were suppose to feature songs from the Leeds & Hull concerts, 'ull of all damned places. The sound quality was not up to scratch as they had technical problems so they abandoned the idea of mixing the two concerts together & stuck with Leeds......Live at Hull doesn't sound right

My biggest regrets are not seeing Bowie or the Stones live :(

I was fortunate enough to see both; both were great. In fact, I was at one of the two Stones shows (in Tempe, Arizona) where they filmed "Let's Spend the Night Together."

Now I'm older and suffering from tinnitus, but every time it becomes an imposition, I think back to those shows and conclude they were worth the price.
