Leeds v Norwich - Team/News/Reports/Ratings
The Canaries are the last team to visit Elland Road (unless by some miracle the White can sneak a play off place) for the 2016-17 Championship campaign.
By their own admissions, Norwich have had a disappointing season, but have started to turn things around following the departure of their beloved Manager Alex Neil.
Their rich vein of form include a 7-1 demolition of Reading and a 2-0 home win v Brighton (albeit by 2 x Stockdale own goals).
If recent speculation is to be believed Norwich are carefully monitoring the situation of Garry Monk, though it would not surprise me if a few of the Leeds Utd's players were not on their wish list too.
Leeds fans will not just be hoping for a home victory, but for Brentford to beat Fulham and Mick McCarthy's Ipswich to beat the Wendies.
Leeds will be boosted by what is expected to be a sell out crowd.

Stick with the solid back four in the main.
Play just one holding midfielder, Vieira is the most in form of the four we can call on
Push Charlie forward on the wing as I have little confidence the rest of our flank players.
Keep Pablo in the team as he is a better player at ER & has more class than Roofe, also probably our only midfielder capable of unlocking the oppositions defence
Hopefully Pontus won't get another booking as Wigan could be his last game for Leeds at least i can make the trip with the knowledge of watching one quality player on view
Green
Ayling Bartley Jansson Berardi
Vieira
Pedrazza Hernandez Doukara Taylor

I'm hoping for a perfect combination results this weekend. Leeds to win, and both Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham failing to win.
That will put things back in our hands for the final weekend and we'll go into the Wigan game knowing that a win will guarantee a play-off spot.
Of course anything other than a Leeds win and it will take an absolute miracle for us to make it.

I posted last week that Norwich would be after Monk. It's just their way, nicking other teams managers and best players. Unfortunately they have the cash we don't appear to have. Could be a very long summer and next season for us if the powers that be don't get their finger out and make some big decisions and splash some cash. Hope we smash Norwich, and the tractor boys down here can do us a favour by beating the wendies. Somehow I don't see either!

I live in hope. If we win and they both draw will be enough for us , if we can win at Wigan too.
Even just to give us something to play for on the last day.

Yeah I went to that one, Brighton definitely in cruise mode and not too impressive so not a great benchmark, apparently Norwich were tragic previous home game against Fulham so you never know!Gandalf wrote:It was a home win.

No matter '64 this fixture should with all due respects result in a home win. Norwich areostion decent and I expected them higher up the league. Anyway they are a trifle hard to beat in Norfolk but Leeds really want to batter 'em... maybe just to send out end of season battle cry. Elland road needs to be where opposition get a caning and no points.

It is what it is
Got to be a home win
Not sure monkey has done himself any favours lately.
All a learning curve IMHO
Dyor and isn't Sanchez a poof

I think I am as confused as Garry Monk now as to our best team, well apart from the back 4 and keeper of course which would remain the same as Burton.
Whatever combination we pick in the midfield 5 doesnt seem to be working at the moment.......O'Kane hasnt been given a chance for a long while so maybe he can bring back what we are missing alongside probably Vieira. Maybe go with Pedraza and Dallas as the wide men, with Pablo behind Wood.
Last chance saloon guys ; just want to see us testing the keeper as many times as possible. On far too many occasions of late, we have barely mustered a shot on target. Saturday cannot be like this. It's he who dares time now boys !!!

thats why I would switch to 4 - 3 - 3, not a huge change from what we usually play either.

Stick either Ayling or Taylor on the flanks & hope that experiment does the trickGurj wrote:I think I am as confused as Garry Monk now as to our best team, well apart from the back 4 and keeper of course which would remain the same as Burton.

not a fan of playing people out of position personally.

Midfield has been a more than a bit blah, would also like to see O'Kane get a start. We seem to do reasonably better when he is on the pitch.Gurj wrote:I think I am as confused as Garry Monk now as to our best team, well apart from the back 4 and keeper of course which would remain the same as Burton.

Nor am I but something needs to change as it clearly isn't working with the mix of our established midfielders, at least Ayling & Taylor will run at defenders as oppose to going sideways & backwards all the time !mav wrote:not a fan of playing people out of position personally.

I suspect this game won't be as exciting as the Rhino's v Huddersfield match I'm watching now.
Probably tense & boring with players wasting time from the 50th minute onwards

Lets hope Leeds United do a darn sight better tomorrow than the Rhino's did yesterday. Absolutely Pathetic effort against a poor Huddersfield Giants side that's hardly won a game all season.

Re: Leeds v Norwich - Team/News/Reports/Ratings
That was one of the poorest performances I've witnessed from the Rhinos, as bad as last seasons poor efforts. Even Brian McDermott seemed lost for words as he described it as awful.Gurj wrote:Lets hope Leeds United do a darn sight better tomorrow than the Rhino's did yesterday. At least he didn't try to drum it up as Garry Monk has done several times after some woeful LUFC performances .
Is there something in the air around Leeds where one match we look like world beaters, the next game it seems we play like a pub team ?
Yes Leeds United need to get their act together particularly our feeble midfielders who need to take a long hard look at their game, they also owe our keeper/back four/striker an apology at the end of this campaign
