People trapped in the building. Sadly looking like many fatalities

Live pictures showing a Chinese looking man at his window hoping to be rescued

30 people taken to hospital

Frightening for those people trapped inside, hope they survive

The extent of the flames and the inability of the fire Brigade to get to upper floors means it has to have been lethal Ges

Just been watching it on the news, one guy who got out described it as like a Hollywood Disasters Movie it looks like it, must have been absolutely terrifying.

They have just announced there are fatalities hope its only a small number but somehow I don't think so

Only one way out when it's something that bad and that is the windows, not a great choice burn or jump, awful. Reading that BBC report the fire brigade were concern about access to the block.

Heard this briefly on news this morning and there were suggestions that there was no fire alarm sounded - if that's true some of those poor blighters will have had no chance, very saddening.

Our thoughts are with those who have lost their lives & injured + families/friends of those caught up in this dreadful tragic incident

RIP to all those who have lost their lives

I suspect there'll be many worried families of the firefighters dealing with this fire !

It's becoming apparent that the cladding installed in the block of flats recently has caused the fire to be so much worst.

Either the council or those who made the decision to clad the building have a lot to answer for

There are stories - though of course all is yet to be confirmed - that the cladding may have played a part in the extent of the fire

News reports saying at least 12 have died. One of them a fireman & I reckon the bereaved are the ones who jumped out of the windows

Sadly I suspect there could be 400 to 500 people who have lost their lives.....tragic :(

And the Whitch hunt begins media speculating on the causes and starting the blame game already!

This is the world we live in. The fire was still burning when attempts were being made to gain political capital out of this.

Disgraceful.

The same witness who said it was a "white, tall, skinny Briton" now appears to say it was a black Ethiopian!! bit of a discrepancy there. :bear:

Just watching Channel 4 news..the people affected are blaming the rich vs poor society....and then i see the item on the upcoming "fight of the century" McGregor vs Mayweather....both getting $100m for a pointless pantomime.....i think the residents around that inferno may have a point.

A selfish greedy profit making society ???
