Monday Breakfast Debate

Post by 1964white »

Today sees a prezzer with Radz unveiling TC at ER at noon.

Rumours also saying that Radz will also reveal 2 signings at the same time.

Some saying 2 signings will be revealed later this week?

Good article by Prutton in the YEP saying give Tommy a chance as nobody knew who Carvalho was at Wendies with 2 seasons into play off since his arrival. Nobody had heard of Silva or Wagner or Arsene Wenger for that matter

Talk that Tommy is chasing Matt Derbyshire who scored 23 goals last season although it was in the Cyprus League however only managed 8 for Forest the season before?

Talk that Orta is trying to bring Negredo to Leeds for a knock down price. 24 goals for Man City season before last then thrown out on loan to Boro' where he was top scorer apparently

Thoughts ?

Would be strange to reveal 2 new players the same time as the manager.
There are managers who we've not heard of that do well, more don't but there are also the one's like Warnock and Venables that were household names came and did sh!te. All we can do is wait and see.

Derbyshire is one of those Billy Sharp type strikers, fits in and scores goals, doesn't and he looks awful, hope we can do better than that.
Negrado would be interesting, showing a bit of ambition with that kind of signing.

I think Wood could play a 4-4-2 with the right player beside him.

From what I have heard TC prefers a 451 switching to a 433. He only played 442 last season as the team had previously been set up that way and he didn't feel he had the players to fit his system so changed his style. Don't forget Monk also switched from his usual 451 formation at the start of last season to try and fit the players in better (i.e. Antonnsen and Wood up front). He switched back to a 451 as our results and performances were generally poor.

I guess time will tell as to what system TC uses here and what plans he has when plan A isn't working.

"Wagner's music is better than it sounds."

Mark Twain

Hopefully, TC turns out the same way.
