Re: If Wood Goes . . .
Oliver McBurnie scored 23 goals for Swansea last year playing for the U23
Could be a cut price gem. Read that Leeds may be after him

becchio bear wrote:Not sad to see lumpa go, never been a fan. We do need a striker but on another note having Becchio as a perhaps pay per play player with a bonus for scoring would be rather nice :luv: He's been in York and Leeds over the last couple of days as per his instagram pics via Twitter, he has never shied away from proclaiming his love of Leeds, I say BRING BECCHIO HOME!!!

I wasn't to bothered about wood not being in the squad when I saw ekuban up front. What I've seen of the lad he looks like alright. But then he hobbles off injured today, so we are looking very weak up top!
AR's track record so far has been good. The Wood rumour has been around since Pre-season so they will have been looking around for a striker , time will tell.
Re: If Wood Goes . . .
Adama Niane of FC Troyes another rumour doing the rounds. Top scorer in Ligue 2 last season 22 goals in 33 games. And scored 1 made 1 on his Ligue 1 debut.

Sounds like the type of player we'd go for, an unknown European striker with pace & goals as oppose to paying a fortune for a British lumpCjay wrote:Adama Niane of FC Troyes another rumour doing the rounds. Don't know what you're laughing at I wasn't suggesting Becchio as a replacement for the lump of wood. I was suggesting him as an impact substitute, someone who is passionate about Leeds and was pushed out by that tw@t Warnock who gave us that equally lump like inept MorisonLUFC 1966 wrote:

Agreed, cant see Radz paying a fortune for an out of form Jordan Rhodes or an overpriced Nakhi Wells or an overweight Ross McCormack.1964white wrote:Sounds like the type of player we'd go for, an unknown European striker with pace & goals as oppose to paying a fortune for a British lump

Re: If Wood Goes . . .
In the past Scottish players have all done well at Leeds (Bremner, Stachan, McCallister, Lorimer, Snodgrass, Mc Cormack)
I like the look of young Oli McBurnie and he is Scottish but Leeds born. We took a chance with Bartley from Swansea
and I think a loan move with an option to buy for Mc Burnie might be just the thing. Make it happen Mr Radz.

Can't see Leeds going for Becchio because we are generally signing up young players
Saiz is a good looking young man don't you think ?

Statement from AR from O/S :-
Statement regarding Chris Wood
For the past month we have tried to negotiate a new three year contract with Chris Wood.
We offered the player strong financial terms including reasonable exit clauses, lower than the fee we demanded for a transfer this summer, should the club not reach the Premier League in a certain timeframe.
However the player’s preference was to leave Leeds United and as he only had one year left on his contract after this season we had to protect the club and ensure we did not sell Chris below our valuation.
We want players at Leeds who consider us a big club and we want players who are committed to our vision to return to the Premier League.
Supporters can rest assured that monies generated from the sale of Chris Wood will be reinvested into adding to the 12 signings we have made already.
Thank you for your continued support.

Re: If Wood Goes . . .
Not sure which of the 3 threads to put this on ..went for this one.
The club have announced anyone with a shirt with Wood 9 on the back can do a free exchange in the club shop. Nice gesture.
