Tuesday's Breakfast Debate - Grot/Gestede & the Italian Job
LEEDS UNITED have tabled a bid for NEC Nijmegen striker Jay-Roy Grot but look set to fail with a move for Middlesbrough’s Rudy Gestede as their hunt for new strikers intensifies on the back of Chris Wood’s exit
Leeds hope to reach a deal for 6’3” Grot after submitting an offer for the 19-year-old but Boro are resisting efforts to take Gestede from The Riverside before the end of the transfer window.
Grot looks a big sod going from the clip below
Apparently Orta & Leeds officials are in Italy looking to close a couple of deals this week
I assume the players we are looking to sign would be an upgrade on the previous Italian lot we employed
Thoughts ??

Well.... they would have to better than half of the last lot...
However, they would have to go quite a way to be better than Berardi...

Highly rated young dutch striker, big lad but apparently known for his pace and comfort with ball at his feet, decent option if it happens not a bad start i feel :clapshout:
Signed

Hope you're right. Any update on this, any news on the fee? Hope there's enough change to buy another centre back.1964white wrote:

Already we have 2 strikers with hat tricks this season (even if it was against lower league opposition). Can't remember the last time that happened. It's not a one man show any more which is very healthy for the club, but the back line needs at least one more capable reserve.

Fee of £1.5m seems to be the one generally being touted around.Rex deWolf wrote:Hope you're right. Any update on this, any news on the fee? Hope there's enough change to buy another centre back.

That's nice! You mean 10% of the fee we got for Wood Should leave a few coins for another defender+NorfolkWhite wrote:

Did money change hands on the Bridcutt deal?

Reckon they'll look to bring in a more established striker as well and apparently submitting second Gestede bid. Reported yesterday that we got c £1m for Bridcutt.Rex deWolf wrote:That's nice! You mean 10% of the fee we got for Wood Should leave a few coins for another defender+

Remember Leicester are getting 10-20% of the Wood fee. Bridcutt around £1M .Rex deWolf wrote:That's nice! You mean 10% of the fee we got for Wood Should leave a few coins for another defender

Even at 20% we would still net £12m + £1m for Bridcutt - that's a nice little purse to have to spend on new players. I think Victor and Co have done a marvellous job so fargessa wrote:

Re: Tuesday's Breakfast Debate - Grot/Gestede & the Italian Job
Doukara contract cancelled by mutual consent and he's signed a two year deal in Turkey .
Latest players rumoured to be interesting Leeds are Jordan Mutch and Jordan Hugill

I reckon AR is a genius - he's not parsimonious but is getting decent players for comparative peanuts.
We're doing pretty damned well for so little outlay, and his system is working for us.
Monk's going to regret his tantrum and Leeds fans may worship Radz (and TC) if we get top 6 or better.
Great times Leon - from a virgin owner and an almost virgin manager, who keep getting things right.
