Congratulations to Wolves on there promotion.

The 1 results that leaps out though is Burton beating Derby , good on Burton bit late but credit to them, nice little club.

Does make you think, is Gary Rowett all that?

Derby have a top 2 squad imo, absolutely should be comfortable in the playoffs by now.

And yet there 7th.

With a game in hand but thats against Cardiff.
They also have Aston Villa and Boro left to play.

They could easily not make the playoffs.

Very expensive squad, is Rowett maybe a bit overrated?

I've thought that for a long time. He has a worse win ratio than TC, who we were told was crap.

Rowett looks bad at the moment, but they could still end up finishing in the play-offs and going up and then he's a genius again.

The hype surrounding him seems to have come from him being sacked at Birmingham and them going into freefall under Zola.

It's similar to what's happened with us going into freefall after Christiansen was replaced by Heckingbottom, and yet the media line is that Heckingbottom inherited a mess and its not his fault.

It seems like xenophobia to me.

I said the same thing on another thread Clive. If TC was English, he'd still be in a job right now.

And yet it's the opposite in the Premier League where the foreigners are talked up and British managers run down, apart from poor Arsene.

There's still time for them to make the play-offs this season, but their capacity to implode in the closing stages of a season is becoming legendary,

He did ok at Birmingham and Burton.

But getting that Derby squad into the top 6 should be the minimum.

Anything less then its poor.

I don't think their squad is that good, it's mostly average Championship plodders and old farts. Wouldn't swap theirs for us.

Dunno about that, quite a few id take over ours tbh.
Tom Lawrence over Pawel Cibicki
Matej Vydra over Samu Saiz
Curtis Davies over Liam Cooper
Andre Wisdom over Gaetano Berardi
Bradley Johnson over Eunan O'Shame
Andreas Weimann over Hadi Sacko.
David Nugent over Kemar Roofe
Tom Huddlestone over Kalvin Phillips.

Think there squad has far more quality.

I see Fulham showed their class beating Millwall at the Den 0-3

Oh for Sessegnon, Mitrovic, Fredericks, Johansen & others playing for Leeds

They paid about £5m for Tom Lawrence and he's a regular so it's unfair to compare him to Cibicki.

Vydra is a striker so you can't compare him to Saiz.

Johnson was £6m.

Roofe is better than Nugent these days.

Was just proving there squads far superior.

Not unfair at all to compare them.

Lawrence is better then Cibicki.
Vydra often playes behind the main striker or out wide so its a fair comparison.
Nugent is a class above Roofe imo.

You've gotta compare like with like.

Roofe probably won't ever be as good as Nugent was, but I'd take him over Nugent now.

I did compare like for like.

Saiz plays number 10 so does Vydra.
Johnson is a regular for them O'Kane is for us in the same position.
Roofe likes to play striker so does Nugent.
Cibicki was signed he plays out wide so does Lawrence. Just because Derby's squad cost more or Cibicki cant get a game doesnt change the point i was making.

There squads better

Lawrence or Alioski? ;-)

There squad is better, but they've fallen away from a strong position and have a lot of players past their prime.

Wolves secure at the top.

Fulham, Cardiff and Villa battling for 2nd.

Cardiff have a game in hand plus the one there playing vs Forest now, currently 1-1.

Millwall and Boro still trying to cling on to those last two places, Derby are doing what Derby do.

Besides Fulham and Wolves Brentford are the form side in the league, unbeaten in the last 7, 4 wins 3 draws, Barnsley away and Hull at home, Brentford have a good chance.

I wonder if it’s worth taking another look at Antonsson
