Shaugnhessy - kept us in the game until Hernandez came on. Reminds me of Alan Hansen, so calm & assured, always seems to be in the right place at the right time. His best game for Leeds after some promising appearances.

Hernandez - we needed some quality to create chances like Pablo or Saiz & Hernandez gave us that creativity with a superb turn & pass to feed Sacko for our first goal, then two lovely penalties in the 94th minute & the shoot out !

Klich - impressive in midfield, saw much more of what Klich has to offer last night

Shaughnessy - We have a player on our hands here.
Klich - So much time on the ball, and a killer penalty.
Ayling - Excellent CB pairing with CS.
Delapsus Resurgam - When I fall I shall rise!

Considering we had our 4th and 5th choice centrebacks playing it says a lot that Burnley's goals came from a direct free kick and a penalty rather than open play. Whilst it is fair to say Lonerghan made a couple of decent saves it wasn't a case of him having to make a wonder save or shots whistling inches past the post etc. As such my selections have to be 1) Shaughnessy - considering his age and lack of experience, at even playing let alone playing centreback, he did seem to read the danger extremely well and get himself into good positions, 2) Ayling - not a centreback and never will be but had a decent game and read things well and generally looked untroubled, 3) Hernandez - a little tough on Dallas who put in a great shift for the team and also a decent shout out to Sacko who really got at Taylor - Hernandez showed his class with a delightful pass just seconds after coming on to carve Burnley open and then led by example with 2 cool penalties.

1. Ayling- Thought he was absolutely superb considering he was playing out of position as well, he still managed to get forward as well and showed his class on the ball.
2. Hernandez- Changed the game goal and an assist, showed his class throughout.
3. Lonergan- Made some really good saves and made a brilliant penalty save in the shootout, Andy in 3rd just ahead of Klich.
