It's a sad time...

Post by hector »

this year is the 90th anniversary of the White Helmets Motorcycle display team....

sadly next Saturday 30th will be the last ever display by them, as the army hierarchy in their infinite wisdom have decreed that they are surplus to requirements..

The Army Philatelic society have issued a stamp to commemorate the team, by showing the six bike fan....

It's such a shame that great feats like this are deemed to be expendable these days. That looks very difficult to do Hector. Obviously you've got a template for how the heck you all manage to get up there but I'll bet it's not easy. Traditions like this give much enjoyment to the public - decision probably down to 'elf n'safety on some level.

Every time I watched them I always felt the urge to eat a Toblerone after, no idea why.

I would have been, but it has been cancelled, last weekend in Preston was the last show.

They are doing a ride through Blandford on Wednesday, but when I was in them, we were based at Catterick.

so won't be going to see that..

It is just sad that they closed them down before the centenary!!!
