Monday Breakfast Debate - Dallas/International break ?

Post by 1964white »

Good morning everyone

Normality returns this coming weekend

Is anyone else relieved that the international break is over

Stuart Dallas got the fans Man of the Match award as Northern Ireland went down 1-0 in Oslo.

Should he be starting for Leeds?

Stupid having all these breaks and disrupting the season - why not start the season 2 weeks later and end it 2 weeks earlier and play all the internationals in those weeks.

Stuart Dallas - Should he be starting for Leeds?

I agree with TC that Pablo Hernandez and Alioski would be the 2 best options - if they are playing well - however Dallas has definitely improved a lot this season and I would not be unhappy if he started games.

It's one of those the international break, I miss the Saturday football but like this break for us it gives teams a chance to regroup when on a bad run but it can also disrupt teams on a good one. Something we just have to live with as i cant see it changing.

Dallas as done very well this season and is probably better starting rather than pablo when we're playing away .

That makes far too much sense for FIFA to think on those lines Weasel

I would play Pablo as I think he is on the same wavelength as Saiz. Dallas has done well when he has come on as a sub, not so good when he has started a game

Yes to the above too for me . Dallas should have started certainly and he tracks back , runs with and for the ball of course . Hernandez is terrific and a luxury player in lots of games .My opinion seeing us for the first time live at Cardiff is Dallas should have started and would have posed a threat . Last game out we got spanked and luckily it's only early days.

Not a fan of the international break. Tends to see clubs losing momentum, though in our case, it might be a case of licking our wounds and re-grouping!

As for Dallas, I'm a fan of the shift he puts in whenever he plays, and he's added a few goals to his repertoire this season. Given how powderpuff we have looked away from home, I think there are certainly games he should be starting. As others have said, Pablo is a smashing player, but he IS a luxury when we're in the trenches. With the likes of Saiz in the side, we wouldn't lose that much creativity dropping Pablo to the bench.

As Anita and Berardi haven't exactly set the world on fire at LB would it worth be giving Dallas a go there, as it is it's more a wing back posiion rather than a traditional full back one. He'll certainly be able to play the ball forward better than those 2

I managed to catch 10 minutes of the first England game (just after HT) and that was all I could take, really have no interest in these games anymore - at least I have actually seen Leeds win something!

Some decent competition for Stuart in those starting roles, think he would probably make my XI for the next game.

I've said it before that Stuart could play LB/left wing back. Has good defensive sensibilities, and works up and down the line in support of whoever is behind him.

You have mate. So if we both think it, then it's obviously the correct thing to do.
