Gianluigi Buffon

Post by Cjay »

Well done to Sweden, but its a shame one of the greatest ever goalkeepers had to have his international career end like that.

Over a 1000 career appearances, most clean sheets in Serie A and Italian national team history. Called up to a record 5 World Cup squads, only goalkeeper to win UEFA footballer of the year, one of the best goalkeepers in the world for 20 years.

And all of that doesnt do the man justice, while the Italian fans booed the Swedish national anthem, he applauded it and shook his head, wonderful gesture.

Now that would be a scoop Norm

Top class keeper

Felt for Buffon, a very emotional & sad ending to his international career

Wouldn't it though.

I wonder if Radz has any connections - ach, just wishful thinking for a way out of our mire.

The legendary goalkeeper returns to the club he first joined as a 13 year old 30 years ago.

A genuine icon.

Is he the greatest ever goalkeeper?

I loved Jorge Campos of Mexico. Best 5' 8" goal keeper ever.

Couldn't agree more.
Always had the right attitude and put team before self.
Enjoy retirement 'old man'!
