Well.... common sense has prevailed, I am officially giving up £50 this morning, as I am not going to risk going out on these icy ungritted roads with my little low profile tyres. It has now been snowing for 90 mins (yes I was up before 0500) and is getting progresively heavier, so the rayburn has been lit so the central heating can be on, and lots of films downloaded... I can't really go out and chainsaw more wood as it would be too wet by the time I finished...

Grrrrrrrrrrr

Bring back global warming I say!!!!
Warned my mates I'll probably be doing the sensible thing.

Would have trouble getting out of our village as snowdrifts have blown snow off the fields onto the country lanes making it even worst !

We've had flurries all week, nothing of any note. White over this morning and forecast is non stop now until late Saturday morning early afternoon.

It seems the whole of the UK will experience the extreme bad weather over the next few days. You could be on red alert soon mate

Not one car down our road in the last 20 minutes..and we're on a rat run plus opposite one of the biggest hospitals in England.

Our drive, is about 1/4 mile long (it is the drive to the farm grain store as well) and is a steep hill, an arctic has just made it up after 40 mins of trying and getting 10 yards up and sliding 5 yards back etc ......

think I made the right choice.....

I had to take my son to work this morning, as he doesn't get paid if he doesn't turn up, and a journey that normally takes 25 mins, took, erm, 15 minutes. That includes having to clear the car of snow, and a little excitement on the local roads. As soon as we hit the Ring Road, passage was smooth, and the road was clear of nearly all traffic. Hope the same applies at 5pm, when I have to go pick him up.

Hasn't stopped snowing here all day...and you really don't want to be driving a 25 year old car with dodgy heaters on a day like today

Just walked houndie here in Ipswich....he's a basset hound so the snow is very deep for him :) At least it's stopped snowing for now but gusts are causing havoc on the lanes by blowing the snow into drifts.

Not the kind of weather that will allow you to go and fix it just yet
