Re: Mega Favourite Song Poll Round 7 - VOTE NOW
Unless I am mistaken, I believe Bally was alluding to you and Mrs 64 voting for each others songs, not necessarily the same voting of other peoples nominations. For me I enjoy this thread as it allows an individual the opportunity to come across some pearls of which we may not necessarily have come across otherwise. Case in point for me this round is believe it or not, "PJ Harvey 'This Is Love'", which I had never heard of, and think is totally top drawer.
I don't really think you need to change anything to be honest 64, it seems to work as it is, at least for me. I suppose if you want to remove any modicum of conspiracy, then perhaps you could alternate between players to provide joker songs, and similarly allow other players to draw the songs out of the hat for pairing songs against each other.
And for sure you have a "winning mentality, win at all costs" attitude to everything, why else would you play safe

'Tactical Voting', all sounds a bit EurovisionAzkalwhite wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 1:53 am Oh my goodness, are you suggesting 64's usual mantra of "winning mentality" means win at all costs, and there is a hint of tactical voting going on?

The joker songs are not my pick Azkal, the are the winning songs from the 'Best Song Poll' comps we use to run a few years ago. In the main they are a band/artists most popular song voted some of our current players plus several members who no longer post on here. I feel using the old poll it will throw up artists/bands/songs that may not be nominated by our latest crewAzkalwhite wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 4:47 am Unless I am mistaken, I believe Bally was alluding to you and Mrs 64 voting for each others songs, not necessarily the same voting of other peoples nominations. Gaye is one of my favourite artists of all-time. Once again I haven't posted many of his songs in these polls as soul doesn't down well in our polls generallyNorfolkWhite wrote: ↑Mon Jul 16, 2018 8:19 am 50's/60's

If you love that rendition by Marvin, have a listen to one of his lesser known albums 'Romantically Yours' where the great man sings some old crooner classics such :

Thought mine would be the only vote, I love Joel but this is the only pure rock ballad worth listening too, Cathedral keyboards, soaring guitar work...not cliched at all. Immense imo
No Diggerty is a magnificent Soul Rap combination with a hook that don't quit and gets under the skin real quick

Re: Mega Favourite Song Poll Round 7 - VOTE NOW
Spent most of Sunday watching the 78 Rockplast gig on you tube and through the hi fi...worth it if you get a few hours to kill with great music played live
Spirit as a trio headlined, Dickie Betts joined to jam later (Remember him anyone?)
But Mothers Finest stole the show, massively under rated band I bought a couple or three albums back in the seventies and any one who loves that Rock funk fusion will lap this up. Joyce "Baby Jean" Kennedy is an under rated lead singer
