Could only pick against the Kinks if it was the Who or Richard Thompson.
So............... Lola it is.

Going to have to be the Animals for me

Nirvana-Smells like teen spirit.
Is a pretty underwhelming list, bet nobody would have predicted that at the start.

I enjoy all five songs in the final
The top three are very much favourites of mine even though I didn't nominate them
The Animals & Amy Winehouse songs both made the No.1 spot in the UK & the wonderful Kinks got to No.2, deserved to hit the top of the charts imo!
Re: Mega Favourite Song Poll Grand Final - Cjay & 64 To Vote
'How Soon Is Now' just ahead of 'Lola' for me

So Mrs 64's nomination 'The House Of The Rising Sun' wins our first song contest, a song which was a No.1 hit in four countries including the UK & USA in 1964
Re: Mega Favourite Song Poll Grand Final Result
NOMINATE a favourite song from each era
Your song can be singles or tracks from albums. Choose obscure songs at your peril !
You can play individual era's if you wish
Everyone is welcomed to play
NOMINATIONS for all era's
60's
70's
80's
90's
2000's
Pending on how many songs are nominated in each decade I will give selected players extra nominations so we end up with 16 songs in all decades

60's: Can't Explain by the Who, No finer expression of teenage angst anywhere.
70's: Relay by the Who
80's: Face the Face by Pete Townshend
90's: English Boy by Pete Townshend
00's: A Man in a Purple Dress by the Who
There's a pattern here in case you missed it.
Having a hard time understanding why the Who don't get more love around here. They're an English band, after all, and quite simply the greatest rock band ever, especially live.
