Ipswich v Leeds - Team/News/Reports/Ratings

Post by 1964white »

Leeds travel down to Ipswich on Saturday afternoon to play an out of sorts Ipswich side.

Mick McCarthy's men have had a torrid Christmas losing to Wolves, Derby, Fulham and the Blunts - saying that would Leeds fair any better against these teams?

Leeds will be without Saiz for 6 weeks following his spitting admission You'd expect Hernandez to fill his role. Ayling is definitely out now & for the rest of the season. Ekuban is a long term casualty too!

It remains to be seen whether Laurens De Bock's transfer goes through in time for him to play on Saturday. The pacy left back looks certain to complete his paperwork although interestingly Hamberg have tabled a late 6m offer to try and lure the player in their direction.

This is the point that things start going wrong for Leeds, the New Year has rarely been kind to them.

This is a game that could shape the rest of their season.

Alioski is a very lucky boy for me to even consider him in my mind as he has been woeful of late. Unfortunately the options are not great as Dallas is injured, Sacko is totally useless & Cibicki looks like a big girl's blouse :(

I thought the Ipswich performance at ER earlier in the season was a good a football side I've seen from a Mick Mc team, hopefully Vieria will be fit for this. I wouldn't take too much notice of their recent results, not with who they've played against. Hopefully they're low on confidence.

Especially as we got battered by three of them & Fulham could quite easily been two up before we woke up in our game at ER

I think we'll see Lassoga or he'd be headed back by now. Hernandez for Saiz, Lassoga for Roofe and Roofe to the right side of midfield opposite Alioski.

Not sure if De Bock gets thrown in straight away as it's not TC's way usually, Anita right Beradi left I think

Apparently the Tractor Boys have got 8 midfielders out through injury and are down to the bare bones with no prospects for replacements!

Unfortunately Ipswich like every other team we face will raise their game to a different level when they play Leeds ... forget form or league position, this is going to be a battle and a point will be good

The thought of O'Kane and Phillips losing another battle against a tough and physical side (which Mick's teams will be) makes me want to cry :verysad:

Poor tiny Anita playing full back and getting rinsed makes me want to cry :verysad:

Wiedwald

Dallas
Coops
Jansson
Berra (lb)

Klich
Anita (holding mid)
Phillips

Pablo (left)
Ali (right)
Roofe

I'd be ok with that.
We have 2 international centre midfielders, why not give them a chance.

Dallas at RB? Are you TC in disguise?
