Jimmy Armfield RIP.,
Sorry to hear that he has passed away fought bravely through illness.
Great match commentator on the BBC .
Former Leeds United manager and Blackpool player.

That is sad to hear, I didn't realise that he had been ill. Did a great job rescuing our season after the Clough shambles, and getting us to our only European Cup Final. A very decent man with it, as well.

Sad news indeed

Jimmy was a lovely man. So unlucky not to have the European Cup trophy on his CV

I hope all football clubs will give a minutes silence/applause to the great man

Sad news. Seemed like a decent man. Had a tough task to do at Leeds and did it with dignity and grace unlike his predecessor.

Will miss his voice on the radio too.

Forgot he also missed out on captaining England in 66 due to injury.

He was a fine full-back. I had the pleasure of seeing gentleman Jimmy playing for Blackpool
