That Cup game leading to loss of confidence and Saiz for 6 games has been our undoing again this season. If we had taken just another 2 wins from that run of fixtures we would have still been chasing the playoffs pretty hard........we may also still have had TC1964white wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:23 pm So amidst all the criticism Heck is playing on a level playing field for the first time at Derby for yet another challenge against a top seven side.
He's not playing against the likes of Burton, Birmingham, Forest, Ipswich, Hull, Millwall where TC mustered five points from those seven games, then there was the exit from the cup v a League Two side.....Wonderful stuff from our clueless ex-manager

I'd rather have Green than Felix any day.Cjay wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 11:38 am Think Wiedwald will come good tbh, he has been one of the few to come out of the last few months with any credit.
Plenty of keepers struggle with crosses 1st season.
People keep using Rob Green as a comparison, he has hardly been a pillar of consistency for his career.
Rob Green played behind a settled back 4, Ayling,Jansson,Bartley,Berardi/Taylor.
Wiedwald has had Anita,De Bock,Berardi,Dallas, Jansson,Ayling, Shaunie, Cooper, Pennington. Its not been settled and arguably isnt of the same quality at cb as last season.
Goalkeeper makes a mistake everyone remembers, strikers miss chances its quickly forgotten.
Re: Is Heck slowly turning us around ?
Once again our board approached the season doing their business on the cheap hence Green was forced out !NorfolkWhite wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:10 pm Been saying that all season, Hobson's choice at the moment. Felix showed a few glimmers but nothing that suggests he is a decent long term No1.
Incredible to think we haven't got one solid keeper
Re: Is Heck slowly turning us around ?
How about Lonners?
If it isnt Felix its him and personally cant bare that again.

He hasnt spoken to Weidwald, another thing TC was criticised for.
Not speaking to his players.

Re: Is Heck slowly turning us around ?
Pretty sure he wasn't forced out because we were doing business on the cheap. We signed a bundesliga keeper who was going to be no 1 and so let greeno leave because he wanted to go to Huddersfield as he was only gonna be second choice here

Agree.NorfolkWhite wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 3:39 pm I’m with you there mate - thought Lonners looked ok when he first game in but gradually got worse, neither really up to the job IMO.
Suppose the decider is Wiedwald had improved and may again, Lonners isnt going to get better, his career shows his level.

There is potential with FW even though I feel we still need a better keeper. FW has good anticipation in open play and good close reflexes. If his weaknesses could be ironed out then he could be a decent keeper but the trouble is that until they are he will cost us goals.

Re: Is Heck slowly turning us around ?
I've yet to see Weidwald improve at all this season...he still can't catch and his distribution tends to end up with the opposition especially in our half. He's average at closing down and probably would rank bottom 5 in the division. What should have happened is he should have started number two and learned for a season from Rob Green who knows how to organise a defence

prob. blessing in disguise, 'ecky going...poor run of results...best gone...but then why would Leeds want him? not a top name manager.

just to say, Hecky won't have any control in transfers, Victor Orta does that (director of football), its how our structure is in management
He jumped before he was pushed.

I think Lonners is quite possibly the worst goalkeeper in this division , very probably three quarters of L1 are better too . If he plays him and OFK in the first team that is any play off chance , admittedly very slight now anyway - GONE . Play OFK and you're down to 10 contributing players anyway , to have a worse than shite goalie as well ............

Wiedwald may make the odd howler but he has been good for quite a while. Lonners is hopeless, surely O'Shame will be dropped today . . . .

Lonners is a much better shot stopper, struggling to see what Weidwald does a lot better than Lonners tbh.
