Yes two major trophies in the bag & a surprise little cup plus a bottle of beer for winning the end of season presentation knockabout yesterday. You could say it's like winning the West Riding Cup :-D

Thank you Swannie

Outdoor season commences tonight :-D

My club Middleton-On-The-Wolds play Hutton Cranswick (which includes three ex-Middleton players) so always a bit of a needle match.

They battered us last season & to be honest I'm expecting another heavy loss as the majority of our nine players haven't bowled a wood in practice due to the greens resembling bogs all down to the persistent rain :rain: we've had over the last couple of months. Thank god the sun has come out & hopefully dried the greens up somewhat :sun: I'll be surprised if we win one of the three rinks !

Only consolation is tonight's match is like a home match for me as Cranswick is only two miles away :)

I'm afraid not Swannie

First eleven ends were very tight with the scores at 11-11, after that we didn't win a single end of the next ten losing the game 24-11

We were playing two wily old players in fact Phil who is my skip in the outdoor triples league has scooped all three internal competitions winning the pairs, triples & becoming singles champion for the first time in a few years, he has been on fire to be fair. Must be the new woman in his life

Thanks for asking Swannie

Thank you Swannie

I've started well, probably playing my best Indoor bowls ever although it's early doors right now.

I have made subtle changes to my game which seems to given me more consistency.

John my evening pairs partner use to post his horse racing tips on Gandi's thread under the username of 'On The Hoof', he is a terrific bowler as is his wife so we probably have the best three Indoor players in that league hence the reason we've won the evening league for the last 7 or 8 years

Thanks Dalton

You can play an attacking game but you are relying more on luck when firing as oppose to drawing to the jack

What with so many new members whom have joined our club thhat means more teams/matches so our re-arranged Aussie Pairs match was an early start at 10am today. Another comfortable victory for Don & I :-D
