Re: Name the players ?
Wonder how easily names would spring to mind 10/20/30 years hence with a picture of the current lot?

David Harvey , Giles , Jones and Terry hibbitt.
Re: Name the players ?
Indeed Paddy
Terry only made 60+ appearances in his eight years at ER
After leaving Leeds Hibbitt went onto play 350+ games for Newcastle & Birmingham over the rext ten years. Sadly Terry lost his life to cancer at the age of 47yo

Re: Name the players ?
Looking at the destination boards on the station I’d say they’d played in Manchester and we’re catching the 11.47 to Newcastle getting off at Leeds City. Any thoughts on the year?

Dunno about that Rich, as there was no direct line from Skipton to Manchester in those days, not even sure if there is now...rich_leeds64 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 8:25 am Looking at the destination boards on the station I’d say they’d played in Manchester and we’re catching the 11.47 to Newcastle getting off at Leeds City. All I remember is that I used to catch the train from Skipton every half term and end of term, and the direct train was to Leeds, and the indirect was to change at Shipley.
Re: Name the players ?
Great photos . I did a bit of research into the first picture and apparently it was taken in Sunny Hill Park , Hendon , on 5th May 1972 , the day before the cup final .

Re: Name the players ?
I’ve done a bit more research on the railway station photo and according to my train loving father he’s certain it’s Manchester Victoria and the line to Skipton closed in February 1970 so this would suggest the photo was from before that date. He added that Stalybridge was the first stop on the line to Leeds, York etc

Yes, all well and good but what type of railway carriage is it?
