Bizarre Sky Coverage

Post by Clive » Fri Apr 13, 2018 9:29 pm

Tonight they slaughtered Jansson even though he wasn't playing, and slaughtered Hernandez even though he's been our best player in this rotten spell under Heckingbottom.

They talked up Heckingbottom and insisted he was a good coach who should be allowed to build his own team in the summer.

They seemed to have decided Peacock-Farrell was man of the match before the game even started, and talked up his basic saves and catches as if they were world class. When they gave him the man of the match award after the game he looked embarrassed.

Are they in cahoots with Radrizzani and trying to pave the way for him to stick with a clueless manager, a young goalkeeper York City didn't think was good enough, and for our best players to leave and be replaced by journeymen?

I think generally with TV pundits is that they don't know what they are talking about. Not that they don't know about football but they aren't across all of the teams. They don't watch Leeds week in week out so they base opinions on the headlines or small bits of games they have seen and try and string that our for an hour.

Agreed.....we have dominated the Championship Sky schedules....and have no right to...we are a very very average club.
Most plagiarists, like the drone, have neither taste to select, industry to acquire, nor skill to improve, but impudently pilfer the honey ready prepared, from the hive......

I think it's probably the case that they take their lead from the local media, in which case we're back to my old mates Hay and Pope.

They almost watch Leeds week in, week out, though.

Phil Hay has been pretty fair really.

Definitely not pro Hecky or against he has been very honest with his thoughts imo.
Phil Hay

@PhilHayYEP

Made Villa work and Leeds played better in the second half but again, made too little of possession and positions around Villa's box. Basically the huff and puff which this team can muster in spells. Villa nowhere near their best but good enough.

Oh yeah he's spot on there, but is his conclusion that the players are no good or that it's the manager who is making them look this bad?

He has to be careful with what he says tbf to him, he has to maintain a decent relationship with Hecky and the club.

He tweeted the other day about our back 5 "in real terms"..He did seem genuinely baffled by the selection.

And he tweeted earlier "against the current top half Leeds have won 4 lost 16 of 23 games".

Which is factual and doesnt defend the club in any way from the players to the owner.

He was never careful about what he said about Warnock and went out of his way to defend Grayson and McDermott.

Maybe my post on here gave him a kick up the arse. ;-)

Sky commentators talking up Lassie as he strolled on lastnight, saying how many people wanted him to sign permanently. After talking with my brother and a couple of mates we came to the conclusion these “people” were Hamburg and all the Championship Centre Halves

According to the sky commentary team Pablo Hernandez and Samu Saiz have to prove themselves to Paul Heckingbottom

Without Pablo Paul has 4 points . . . Yes 4 points.

Pablo has scored or assisted 6 points worth for Hecky.

Let that sink in.

Without 1 player Paul Heckingbottom would have 4 points in 13 games.

A points per game of 0.3

Sunderland, Bolton, Reading and Bristol City become defeats.

His record becomes.13games, 1win, 1draw, 11 defeats.

Hinchcliffe hates us, so unsurprising he has no clue about us. The media narrative is that Heck is some kind of genius manager and we're lucky to be in his presence. When he's sacked, it won't be his fault of course, it will be our owners not giving him a chance and our fans being deluded and thinking we're a big club. The way they go on, you'd think Christiansen was struggling at the bottom and Heck "saved" us.
