He has been subject to a lot of criticism when playing for England before, and his critics will be out in force again.

At last a goal. England played dumb in the second half. Should have spent the half putting crosses in.

Well, well, well despite the best endeavours by the cheating Tunisians, we manage a win, woooo hoooo. At times I thought I was watching a rugby match the way they were tackling Kane  We started well, I thought we looked hungry and fresh and then the pen against us seemed to take the wind out of our sails. I was just praying for us to snatch a late goal and we did  :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

On first look, the 2nd goal looked a straight forward header but looking at it again it was very clever .
Deserved win, 2 penalties not given, 1 a stone waller, there were a few cynical tackles and blocks, which the ref let go.

Henderson motm for me.

So much cheating & gamesmanship with no protection from the referee or VAR, that ref shouldn't be allowed to official another game in this tournament, he couldn't even get the opposition to stand ten yards back at free-kicks right.
Tunisia played a dangerous game by playing for a draw in the last 30 minutes, in the end it backfired on them

Would have been very easy to head that straight at the keeper, very clever placed finish.

But a shockingly bad performance all round, Too much running into blind alley, too mauch wanting 10 touches when one would do, no intelligence, too much standing around watching a team mate run into a blind alley,

Tunisia second rate and we're going to get well beaten by any side that can play football

I was nearly cheering for Tunisia to score a second so we could call it quits already, Got to improve massively.

2 minutes plus to get that wall lines up for the Young FK, a yellow or two would have stopped that, Of course you knew beforehand Young would have no chance to score from there anyway. How predictable to go over the top that close knowing we don't have a FK specialist on the pitch.

Not so sure, I think we could do better against footballing teams than we do against spoilers.

England were playing with 10 men. Everytime Young got the ball on the wing the play
ground to a halt, all he ever did was stop the ball and pass it back. The only attacking
with pace was coming down the right flank. All the Man Utd players had stinkers
Harry Kane was a saviour for England. If England have to play there again then their
secret weapon would be insect repellant. No wonder Stirling could not play for he
had a horde of them buzzing around his head. More snapshots.

Good performance imo. First half we were excellent. So many chances, could have been five up by half time.

Sterling is abysmal. He's given no help by constantly being started. Give him a break because he's totally useless with an England shirt. Also, in his defence he's not a striker and it showed.

Their penalty was a joke. Kane should have been given two. If these refs progress its a joke, they were terrible all night.

After the penalty we looked like we'd lost all confidence as said above. Second half was a snore fest. Great finish by Kane at the end. Our one true world class player.

Promising start! Hangover is well worth it this morning. Tunisians soon left the beer garden last night after we got the winner!!!

Far too much of an overreaction from the pundits, especially Rio saying that teams will fear England now. Lol, we're bang average and scraped a win vs a poor side, who we struggled to break down. Panama will be exactly the same. This is why we need the likes of Rashford and Vardy on so we can open up teams, but we don't have a playmaker to do that. Still think qualifying out the group will be a major struggle and achievement if we do. If we face Colombia in 2nd round, we'd be taught a footballing lesson.

Agreed, we were poor for the most part imo, defence couldn't deal with the press, too much standing around and negative football v a very poor Tunisia, not much goal threat and I personally thought Kane had a poor game losing possession to many times and putting away to solid gold chances. Also too many players in possession in good areas with no clue what they were going to do with it ...It did remind me a lot of Leeds football from last season.

Overall team performance would rate a 3 to 4 imo....

England couldn't have wished for an easier group, if we mess up this time they may as well give up playing international football

Agreed...the punditry was absolutely pathetic....it was a turgid victory...and if I was English I would not be crowing too much or be proud of that that performance against the "might" of Tunisia.

Then again...there have been a few shock results so far......who knows ?

Btw.... welcome back Ronan
