Just saw this and it made me sad
My favourite comedian ever by a mile, seen every dvd, video, youtube clip, saw him live once, just a comic genius
Hope he can remain performing (if thats what he wants to do) for a few years yet.
Stay strong Billy

Very sad CJay
I visit one of my ex-clients in a care home generally once a week, she is one of the more alert ones there although her memory isn't great, she calls me her toy-boy bless her.
I see this terrible disease every time I visit 'N' believe me, it's very distressing to see how it affects people so badly who were once healthy & aware of life as it should be. Thankfully the carers are wonderful & the residents are well cared for at that home!

I sit & have coffee with 'N' in the breakfast room which is full of people, apart from our conversation & the voices of the carers it is totally silent, much of the time you could hear a pin drop.....all very sad

Desperately sad for Billy - when Michael Parkinson related that Billy asked him how long they'd known each other that was the saddest part - those 2 were as thick as thieves and I think there was a definite friendship love between them.
The absolute best ever show of his, for me, was the 1985 Albert Hall concert.
He was at his superlative best but there's been many a great show from him.
I'm with you Cjay, and anybody else who really appreciated him.
I'm sure you've all seen this but on the off-chance 1 of you hasn't -

Just watched the ITV special.
Billy Connolly, Its been a pleasure. . . Basically a goodbye really, retiring from tele and show business. Officially its a retirement from standup special but i expect its more than that.
Excellent, very moving and funny.
The Big Yin looks frail now but happy in Florida enjoying his retirement, fishing and painting.

Re: Sir Billy Connolly
Saw him in concert many many years ago.
I needed the loo but was worried he might pick on me when got up to leave the seats.
This other guy got up and when Billy started on him I stealthily edged along towards the aisle.
Then...
"Hey you, why are you moving so slow? Oh I get it, by the time you get in there the other guy will already have his c**k out"
Git
I took a bow.
