Hiding to nothing tonight, if we’d have won it’s another game for a small squad, but we lose and have to deal with the uncertainty that brings. Big performance Friday and put it behind us quickly.

Just shows the lack of depth in our squad, nothing we didnt already know.

Outside of our 1st 11 we are weak.

SG90 wrote: Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:22 pm I think when I wake up tomorrow I won't be that bothered, but still disappointing to lose at home. The most disappointing aspect is PJ and Phillips playing 90, Saiz and Klich 45 and Alioski 30 mins. We needed them to have a rest, seemed pointless bringing them on and we may come to regret it on Friday now. The out of favour players have failed their audition if they wanted to start, don't think some of them are good enough. Would've preferred to see Clarke, Rey, Dalby and give others a rest. We definitely need a CB, despite what Bielsa and Radz claim.
Need a dm, number 10/winger and a cb, we already knew that lol.

A DM to replace Phillips? Or a DM to come in to be cover ..not forgetting we have Forshaw too and he probably needs to go in the first team as soon as he's ready.

As a Championship side dont think you should ever be looking just for cover, always look for better imo.

It's not like that 11 will play again this season, maybe FA Cup round 3 depending on who we get. It would be extreme bad luck to have your entire starting xi injured at the same time.

In place of who though? Would be pretty harsh and foolish to drop Klich or Phillips, our starting 11 against Norwich work great as a team, all know their role, all understanding each other like they have been playing this formation and style all season.

Really not bothered by the result at all. Beaten in a tinpot cup with a second XI that won't start in the league, barring a catastrophic injury/suspension scenario. We were always going to get beaten at some point this season, might as well be in a fairly meaningless cup that we were unlikely to win anyway. Does this speak to our lack of squad depth? Perhaps, but that's old news. If we could get cover at CH, I'd be happy enough.

Friday is way more important, we go again

Agree, I won’t be losing any sleep over last nights result or reading anything into it like some of the doom and gloom merchants on Twitter etc.
Yes it’s nice to have a cup run and possibly play a big Premier league team at home, but that would be one game whereas our aim is promotion and big Premier league clubs every week. Bielsa will be readying the team for our much more important game on Friday. Changes to the team we’re inevitable with having 3 games in 7 days and I saw it as a chance for squad players to get a game.

Roll on Friday for our top of the table clash and a chance to go clear of Boro.

We've lost cup games to worse opposition playing a stronger 11 than this.

Bielsa's tactics work best when players are familiar with the team around them, and that team was a big mix.

I would personally preferred Shackleton at RB, but that's only really because he played well there v Swansea. Apparently we were bullied a bit in midfield last night, so Dallaglio might have offered a bit more in that sense.
