The LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tue 28th Aug)

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning Everyone

Preston boss Alex Neil has been speaking to the Lancaster Evening post about tonights game.

“I could sit here and say this is the most important game of the season for us but I’m not going to lie because for me Bolton’s more important.

"It is an important game and it’s certainly important for the guys that are going to be playing because they need to perform well, not only for this game but going forwards.

“We desperately want to win but I’d much rather get three points on the board on Saturday and get our league campaign going again."

Both Preston and Leeds are expected to field weakened teams.

Vinnie Jones was on the Alan Brazil show on TalkSport yesterday morning. He suggested that Liverpool and manchester united fans would not want to see the Whites back in the top flight.

“They should do a Wolves and get in the Premiership,”

“I think everybody would agree, get Leeds in the Premiership, Liverpool and Man U fans, maybe not, but who cares about them.”

You have to love him!!!

Caleb Ekuban was spotted at the airport yesterday with a one way ticket to Turkey.

The goal shy striker is expected to pen a permanent deal with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.

Saiz has been strongly linked to a return to La Liga, this time with Valencia. Looking at how our players are performing, we can expect most of our players to be linked to moves away from Elland Road.

Mateusz Klich has been called up by Poland for their Nations League game against Italy. Ironically, if he plays it will be four years to the day since his last cap!

Name our three best players this season, in order!!!

Morning all...

No particular order I’m most impressed with:

Berardi - Many thought his days were numbered, he plays CB and has done well
Klich - After being dumped on his ass he has come back firing
Roofe - Either totally transformed or a coach playing him to his strengths, either way well done

Klich - come back with a point to prove and doing proving that point with aplomb.

Roofe - doing what he has done for two seasons now, but has added a more clinical edge.

Phillips - gone from whipping boy who many thought should be shipped out, to an integral part of Bielsa's team.

Roofe, Phillips and I'd say Saiz or Hernandez but that's my personal opinion. I like what Saiz does, creates some good chances

Morning Richard,

For Klich to come back after his exile, especially after being made to train with the u23's following his arrival deserves a medal.

They could make it into a movie...

The MOT'ers could play the movie parts...

Who would be who?

I just like what he does mate, always seems to be in the thick of it or like you said, One of his surging runs turns defenders inside out

Hernandez would make the top 5 for sure. He's rolled back the years this season and his work rate is up there with players 10 years his junior.

It's still early in the season, so I just hope that Alioski etc can keep it up over the full 46(+) games, as consistency was the issue last season!

Don't know how you can limit it to three, as everyone has performed admirably.

But my favorites have been Pablo, Saiz, and Klich

And Roofe.

My three favorites are Pablo, Saiz, Klich, and Roofe.

It's the bloody Spanish Inquisition. :P

I watch Samu and I think I am beginning to see a pattern in his play.
Crossfield run drawing a defender with him, puts on the brakes and
does a pirouette and changes direction and does a chip into the box,
but there is nobody on his wavelength and nobody to get on the end
of the ball. So many chances have gone to waste.
Clever player but team mates need to anticipate his movements more

I would prefer it see him driving straight at goal, riding a few tackles
and getting a shot away by himself, but then we would all accuse him
of being greedy, but if goals come as a result then we would surely forgive him.

Pablo was already OK - talking about improvements there are others but I agree with these 3 as the most improved and influential.
