"objective fan" - is that a consistent oxymoron?"
THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT THE FUTURE IS WHITE
Bielsa not wanting to be drawn on Neil Harris' comments. Did say that behaviour doesn't relate to whether you are foreign or not. "If the river has too much water in it, you have to consider the reasons why." In other words, you have to look at why Leeds celebrated as they did.
If we mixed it up, we'd be able to catch them on the hop?
Real shame we don't have a long throw specialist. Its as good as a corner.'
Hi Elland, There is no doubt that when it works (playing out from the back) it looks great and can lead to some good forward opportunities, BUT it can at times be very scary ! I think the (accurate) long ball at the right time should also be used. When watching the likes of Man City its obvious that the keeper must be told not to go long at any cost which can be a worry !
A long throw specialist wouldn't go amiss, its a good back up weapon to have.
Bielsa was saying that the long ball from a throw in does not have any pace on it.
When it comes in it is usually slow and arcing, so players are watching the flight of the ball
and jostling for position, and that is when defenders are likely to give away a penalty
by pulling down the opposition.
Whereas with corners the ball is whipped in at pace and the trajectory of the ball
presents a completely different set of problems for defenders.
I would hazard a guess that Pontus is better at the fast paced corners since he
does not have to hang about and is given the freedom of the box to attack the ball,
However the long looping throw in takes an age to arrive and there exists a confusion
as to who should go for the ball. Berardi of course will bulldog his way to any floating
ball and snap it up regardless of his height.
