Films / TV
I'm after a new TV series or some "decent" films to watch. Gotta few weeks to kill on my lonesome so trying get in some binge tv'ing.
Watched a new film the other day on Netflix called Operation Finale, I thought it was very good, and just done first season of Shooter, which was okay, typically american and far fetched but was pretty good.
Any recommendations at all?

Just binge watched the first series of a black comedy from Channel 4, called Flowers, really enjoyed it, can imagine it's not everyone's cup of tea but series 2 coming here soon.

Afraid not Lev, I must confess to having never ever watched any of these Netflix/Sky series box sets at all, either when they've been on or on catch-up, binge styleLevLeeds wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 10:30 am I'm after a new TV series or some "decent" films to watch. The good lady wife and daughter watch them, but I just have no interest.
That wasn't much help was it !!
Re: Films / TV
The new Jack Ryan series on Amazon is pretty good. "The Bridge" is probably the best Scandi-Noir series I have seen (subtitles), the first two series of "Homeland" are excellent. "Game of Thrones" is brilliant, as well.

Yes, Games of Thrones definitely. Incredible series. Also Boradwalk Empire is superb. Steve Buscemi is excellent as Nucky Thompson.

Re: Films / TV
GoT is a triumph, we've seen nothing like it's multi-stranded plot lines on that scale. The Last Kingdom is enjoyable on the same lines but that is single stranded. Kill off the main character and no more series ....
American Vandal is interesting
Just started Salvation
I enjoyed Shooter tbf but I usually prefer American to British stuff anyway.
Safe was excellent, Harlen Corban can write a good thriller
The Sinner - supurb
Also just started the Beyond
All on netflix

Something about this iteration appeals.
Re: Films / TV
I guess it seems like the idea is good, at long last.

I watched Series 1 which I thought was good but the start of Series 2 lost me a bit - worth persevering?

Stick with it, mate, picks up again. Great series on the whole, but the season which focuses on the stories through the eyes of the newspapers (4 or 5) is a bit weak, imo.NorfolkWhite wrote: ↑Mon Oct 15, 2018 8:11 am I watched Series 1 which I thought was good but the start of Series 2 lost me a bit - worth persevering?

Done GOT's and Breaking Bad, Homeland, have to say I was gutted when I finished them as they were brilliant.
I just started the Sopranos again actually, never finished it so.
Actually just started the Lord of the Rings / Hobbits trilogy's again as well.
