Carlos Corberan

Post by The Subhuman »

This should be the most important man at ER right now. I think most of us understand for one reason or another that MB probably isn't the long term answer and indeed there is something reported that he may have a contract dependent on promotion either this year or next.

What we do know is MB is a college for top class young managers, his disciples have gone on to great things even if MB himself has earned little in the way of accolades ..We need to hope the Marcelo is here long enough to complete Carlos' education and he absolutely has to be the next man up in the next 24 months.

He's already shown ability before the arrival of Bielsa with the U23's ..

Agreed.. continuity is the best way, if you have the right man, which it looks as though he could be.

Spot on 'Faaip' - I've had the same thought, especially because he is fluent enough to get his ideas across without the need for interpretation. We do need to retain him and his ambition.

Agree Faaip :)

Madrid doing it with Solari.

Barcelona done it a few times.

Promote from within.

Carlos turned the u23s into the best side for the entire 2018 year so far.

Be delighted to see him after bielsa.

Cultural Leonesa want Corberan as their next Manager.

Kind of odd seing as the head of their owners Aspire Academy is the first person Radz appointed to the board when he took over Ivan Bravo.

Always has been something odd about the Qatar stuff.

I'd be very surprised if he went tbh, but if he does, we should promote either Danny Schofield or Mark Jackson and get them continuing the style of play and learning from Bielsa.

In some ways wouldn't be a bad thing for him to make a step up in his career to being a manager of a first team and if he does well then hopefully he would still be interested in coming back to the Leeds hot seat after MB retires.

Massive risk though, and not sure how much he learns in Spains third tier ...
